This hotel is nicely situated, outside looks awfull.! needs a lick of paint. badly, inside very nice, staff were lovely, bedroom, tho a stale musty smell as soon as u open the door, was very comfy. food not bad at all, & decent size portions. we had the c.h. \ air con. machines outside our window. thought it was gonna b a pest.! but in fact it helped drown out a lot of other noise going on in hotel.!! COBWEBBS ON THE CEILING LIGHT.!!

Room Tip: No idea on that one, sorry.

“excellent value for money and lovely staff”

I stayed at Lawlor's with my 2 year old for a weekend for a family gathering. I was a bit apprehensive having read other Tripadvisor reviews but was very impressed at the room (a good size, nice beds and linen), bathroom (great shower), and service (geat staff, civilised midday checkout). The bar and lobby are also pleasant areas to hang out in and it's nice to be in the center of town so no driving is needed. Lunch is nice and very good value.
Okay, if I'd been paying 200 euro per night I might have been a bit unimpressed with the dated carpet and corridor decor, the lack of a little shelf in the shower and expected a higher quality of orange juice at breakfast,
There was some noise from the street at kicking out time on Saturday night, - I didn't think it was excessive and it didn't stop me sleeping, but if you're sensitive you might want to ask for a room at the back.

Stayed here last weekend, had a room over looking the harbour,Dungarvan is a great town, lots of life on a saturday night,a lot more than we expected, food in the hotel restaurant was top quality, the restaurant was very busy which is always a good sign, nonetheless service was prompt and friendly, would definitely return, particularly enjoyed the liquid breakfast while enjoying the sport on tv....

“no sleep, stag parties, poor food lovely staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

I have stayed at this hotel, for the last time. The list is long,
lets begin. the first thing that strikes you is the smell of food cooking all over the hotel, from morning to night.
The lift is far too small. The corriders to small and dont look up at the ceilings.
The noise is always there. The windows are single glaze you would think it too dangerious to open it in case it dont close. The noise at night from the street is just wrong, and not the hotels fault.but they could do something with the glazing.
But they can do something about the noise inside the hotel at 01.00hrs till early.
The rooms are musty. The cleaning could be better. The bar has only eyes for gangs of youths drinking till early and its not cheap.A lot of coach parties come here because it suits,
town centre good food and music each night. but its not for me..
very nice staff.
will stay here again in a few years time.

Room Tip: ask for rear room as its quite here. wifi here I think

Dear Toursmanager,
Thank you for your recent review. It is very disappointing to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We work very hard to ensure that all guests have en enjoyable experience. As we have mentioned to other reviewers, we are a town centre hotel and this comes with positives and negatives. We do have very capable night Porters that monitor the hotel overnight and monitor noise levels throughout the building. We actively seek and welcome genuine, constructive feedback as this is what we use to ensure our service and standards are maintained to a good 3 Star level. We do hope that you will return to us again in the future.

“Dont take the girlfriend.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

Stayed here while working in the area. Its very handy for shops and restaurants, but wouldnt be taking my girl there for a weekend away. Got nothing going for it apart from being in the middle of town.. Lots of elderly people stay here.
Stayed in a few rooms, one shabby, and two ok rooms.
Breakfast isn't great.

Room Tip: 3rd floor overlooks the Bay. 1st floor overlooks a dump.
