Just back from a four days stay at BorgoBrufa, and it's been one of the most relaxing experience I ever had. The hotel is really nice, a few building scattered around on the top of a hill in the middle of the Umbria countryside. The location is perfect if you want to do a bit of tourism - it's pretty close to a lot of interesting place, both touristic and off the beaten path: do not miss the Museo del Vino in Torgiano, I'll write a review apart for it as it's a real gem - but above all this the right place if you want to pamper yourself.
The spa is simply heavenly, especially the heated outdoor/indoor swimming pool. After sunset, we had the really magical experience to swim in the dark (but with a very clever game of light and coulours) immersed in hot water and sorrounded by eerie vapors, under a starry sky and with the lights of the nearby countryside in the background.
The spa in general is big enough not to be bothered if there are a lot of people (with I can happen during the weekend), with a lot of options included in the admission fee, that for us was included in the room price. The treatments, in my opinion, are a bit pricey, but worthwhile anyway. I highly reccomend the "Percorso Salino", a truly amazing experience.
As the spa is open also to people who don't stay at the hotel, I imagine one could save a bit of money sleeping elsewhere. But how can you beat the relax of swimming in the dark until is dinner time, than go back to you room, change and sit at a really nice dinner after a few minutes?
We had a very comfortable suite, perfectly clean and with all the amenities you can expect in a 4 star hotel. The staff was helpful and unfailingly kind and efficient, Internet connection in the rooms is via cable and wireless in the hall.
What else? We had such a lovely time we'already looking forward to be back.
