After getting stuck in Milan during the volcanic ash saga this year, a colleague and I made our way up to Lake Como and chanced upon this true 'gem' of a restaurant while staying in Cadenabbia. There are so few places like this left: totally unpretentious (plastic flowers on tables etc) and very pleasant lakeside setting with wonderful home-cooked food full of flavour and beautifully served by a mother and son team (am guessing Dad was in the kitchen doing the cooking). The other customers were a mix of affluent-looking Milanese and locals, all of whom seemed liked regulars - and just a few tourists. Both my colleague and I loved it and have vowed to go back and enjoy its rather romantic atmosphere with our partners pne day! (Great Italian wine list too).

We dinned there once, in the noon, thanks to TripAdvisor, as you can't easily recognize the restaurant, although it's on the roas, but passing it, I remember it... We had two pasta dishes, one Cottolette a'la Milaneze, dessrts and wine... The food was excellent, and their service very good... They have a lovely garden, with shadow from wild rose trees and perfect lake view...

Id you are in the area, do not hesitate to try it! Their prices, are really friendly!

Just loved this restaurant. We don't normally go back to the same restaurant, but this one was so good, we couldn't resist returning. We were never disappointed. The best homemade gnocchi I have ever tasted. Vegetables grown in their garden, simple but the best I have ever tasted. Excellent service and just a general all-round wonderful experience. Paulo and his mum serve the tables, while his Dad and brother are in the kitchen. And of course then you have the view over Lake Como - just divine. Highly recommend this place - the menu is simple and delicious. There are specialiaties of the night, so go for what Paulo recommends - the quail is also oh so good!!!
