I was there on business travel and had to stay only one night. The hotel is on a spectacular cliff on the sea therefore is upside down: 0 level reception , -1 restaurant, -2 rooms etc. Unfortunatly I was given a room at level -2 extactly under the main ball room where an event with more than 200 guests was held that nght. Result: I couild not sleep until 2 o'clock in the morning. Big pity because the hotel, altough aging, is not bad and the price in the off season is ok. The restaurant is prime time too. However, accomodate guest under the ball room with an half deserted hotel is really unexcusable. Thumb down.

The Lloyd's Baia Hotel offers fantastic views over the Amalfi Coast and superb food...the hotel has also a strategic location if you wish to visit Sorrento, Positano, Ravello and Pompei. The city of Salerno is also young, trendy and full of small bars and cafes. This is what the Amalfi Coast is all about: friendly people, amazing scenary and genuine atmosphere. Well done to the new management for doing such a great job with one of the historic hotels on the coast.

I was with a tour group when we had to stay here. Some of the rooms ended up flooded due to rain. The room had a horrible echo to it and I could hear everything up and down the hall. The shipping port was right below the hotel and if you had the window open, you could hear everything that was going on there. I will never stay here again.

We were there for two nights September 22 &23. On Saturday night there was a extremely loud disco on the beach in front of the hotel that went until 5:00 AM. Everyone in the hotel was wide awake and complaining with no results. I received two strange phone calls, one a midnight on Friday and one the next day. When I reported them to the desk and asked not to have calls put through to my room late at night there was no interest. They said there was not way to stop a call. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. They need to decide if they want to have a disco or hotel guests on Saturday nights. The two do not mix.
