“friendly 3* hotel”

We stayed in the Rhodos Beach hotel in October 11. It is a typical 3* Greek hotel, basic amenities but clean, friendly, in a great position to walk into both the old and new towns and the breakfast was quite adequate. The hot water was always hot too(which isn't always the case in some 3* hotels) There are many many restaurants very close by,(don't walk past Taverna Loot. The food is excellent and the service also very good with free starter and desert. Great value for money) If i have to complain about anything, the beds are not very comfortable, but that is being really picky. We would not hesitate to go back. However we would go a month earlier as the weather was very mixed.

Room Tip: We payed a bite extra for a sea view and were not disappointed

“good hotel”

Just returned from 14 nights at the Rhodos Beach Hotel..We really enjoyed our stay there the rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. the air con costs 6 euros a night which fortunately we didn't have to use.
there is a fridge in the room but no kettle you can hire one for 7 euros a week.
the pool is small and was mostly in the shade we used the pool in the sister hotel next door which was much bigger with plenty of sun loungers.
the beach is shingle and windy.
The staff were friendly and helpful.and found the hotel met our needs and it was within 20 mins walking distance of the old town and it was close to bars and restaurants.
I would advise anyone staying there to ask for a sea view room.

“Good hotel with a great view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

We arrived at Rhodos Beach Hotel on the 2. of august. We booked 10 nights with halfboard. First of all, much of the things that were already written about this hotel on this site are true and I thank all of you helping me, make this choice. The first impression of the hotel was not very good: It's facade hasn't been painted in a while, but you get used to it. Second disappointment was the room. It just looked like it hadn't been refurnished since the 70's. Primarily that blue painted bed and everything else painted blue made a sticky impression on us. Everything else was ok, it didn't bother us so much, that the AC was a bit slow. We got a safe at the reception. For 10 nights it was 12 euro.
About the beach: You might want to consider not to wear a hat on the beach. I have seen lots of people running after them. The nice receptionist Despina told us, it was always windy on the beach, later we found out the beach was also called "Windy Beach" :) Gone with the wind was also our towel on out last night in Rhodes. It flew away from out balcony. A tip: they have clothes-pegs at the supermarket of the hotel. It`s worth it! Or bring some with you. You`ll need them.
If you don´t like the windy beach across from the hotel - because of the wind there are huge waves there and I noticed, many people were just afraid to get in and some who got in were knocked over by the waves - you can go right as you leave the hotel, along the coast. Pass the Aquarium and you´ll reach a nice but very crowdy beach with wooden sunbeds. There are no waves at all there. 2 sunbeds and one umbrella cost 8 euro/day. It doesn´t matter when you get to the beach. They will try to charge you for the sunbeds even at 17:30.
On one of the days we rent a car. We didn´t want anything special, just a small car who could get us from A to B. We first tried our romanian agent, but she wanted to charge us 60 euro for the smallest category. We tried the car rental from Marathon, which is nearest to the hotel (second street right), they said the category A is booked out all week. At last we asked Despina to book a car for us. She called and the next day the guy from car rental came and we got the Chevrolet Matiz for 50 Euro/day and a full tank. Nice thing, we could keep it over night and just leave the carkey at the reception.
If you want to see something from the Island, here´s what we did. First we drove to Petaludes (the butterfly valley), which is not far away from the airport. My advise, go there first thing in the morning! We arrived at aprox. 9:30 and it was great, but when we got out, at aprox. 11:30 it was really crowdy. Afterwars we drove across the island to the town of Lindos. Here you can rent a donkey for 5 Euros to get you to the Acropolis. We felt sorry for the animal and did´t do it. It was quite a struggle to get up there at noon. There was not a bit of wind. Oh, and watch your step, because the stairs are very slippery!
After Lindos we drove south to Prassonisi. This is a city which belongs to the island of Rhodes in the morning but in the afternoon, around 17:00 it becomes an island. It´s really spectacular watching the 2 seas, the Mediterranean and the Eagean Sea unite. You can also see which is which (the colours differ). There is also the paradise for kitesurfer and windsurfer, which we watched more then 1 hour doing their stunts. The trip was really worth it! Oh, I forgot to tell you, it was very windy here and nobody took a swim here.
These three trips we made in one day and we used only half a tank of gas.
We didn´t need to eat out at all during our stay. The breakfast was ok. We had continental breakfast and british breakfast (ham, scrambled eggs and beans) too. The dinner was really great. Every day you could eat something else. They also had theme-dinners: italian with pizza and pasta, greek with gyros and lambsteaks, and chinese with spring rolls and sweet sour sauces. On greek evening there was sea food too. So we couldn´t complain about the food at all. Oh and try the green pistachio-ice as dessert for dinner. It´s really delicious.
That´s all! I hope my review was helpfull. All in all we enjoyed our stay at Rhodos Beach. Maybe we´ll go back!

Room Tip: take the sea view. it´s worth it. you´ll get to make great pictures with the sunset.

“Saved the holiday”

i foudn the Rhodos beach after ending up at a horrible hotel elsewhere in the town.

From the start the staff were helpful and friendly. I initially had a twin room over looking the beach with an excellent shower. I paid the extra for air-conditioning,but rapidly discovered there was an issue with it. Reception promptly sent up an engineer who recommended i changed rooms and I got moved within 15 minutes to a larger double room, also on the front.

It's basic, and not brand new, but clean, and nicely looked after. For the price - it was a bargain, and I'd stay there again in a heart beat.

Rhodes town itself was amazing, you're about 20 minutes away, which makes for a nice walk in the evening. my tip would be to not eat in the old town, but at the strip of restaurants by the casino, they are about half the price of the ones in the old town. Victoria's was especially good.

the pool is not terrible, it's okay and clean but fairly small, though there weren't that many people around it. It also can tend to be on the cold side.
The wireless was a bit difficult to connect to (extra charge) but think that may have been more my mobile device.

Breakfast is okay, basic selection of fruit, cooked, yoghurt, bread, cheese, meats etc, but there do seem to be a few ants in the restaurant.

All in all I was happy with the hotel, and thought it very friendly.

“Great Holiday”

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rhodos Beach Hotel - rooms basic but very clean and adequate. We would recommend paying extra for sea view - well worth it. Only complaint about the room would be the bed, which I found really hard - but I think that is because I am thin and my bones dug into the hard mattress! (My husband didn't have a problem with the bed!)
Nice reception/bar area/pool area and the staff were wonderful and very helpful - we would certainly return to this hotel.
