This hotel was a lovely place to spend a holiday. There was a very warm welcome at reception and all the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my fortnight's stay, from the two 'comedians' in the bar to the chatty waiters and the ever-helpful ladies on reception. The hotel was very clean and well-maintained and there was a very good choice of food, both hot and cold, at breakfast. My single room had an inland view but this did not detract from my enjoyment although it would have been even better to have had a room with a seaview.
The location was excellent, being situated at the quiet end of the harbour but close enough to observe the comings and goings of inter-island ferries just round the corner. Plenty of places to 'potter' and explore. The old village is well worth a visit if only for the spectacular views over the harbour. Pedi beach, reached by bus, was a relaxing place to while away the day. Good food at the taverna on the beach too! Enjoyed the local tavernas and there are more than enough to visit a different one each evening if you wish. Panormitis was really interesting but catch the early bus (7.45 from Symi, August 2011) to avoid all the excursion boats which arrive throughout the day!
Don't know why the brochures list the hotel as being 'Symi, Rhodes Town' unless it's because the majority of travellers (I think) seem fly to Rhodes and then travel by ferry to Symi island.
