This hotel is rated with three stars with our travel agent Apollo (Scandinavian), and we chose it mainly because of several excellent reviews on tripadvisor. We stayed in a two-room apartment on the ground floor, with a huge balcony and a nice view towards the pool area and the beach. Rooms are well equipped, however a bit old-fashioned. Cleaning was 6 days a week, change of towels and bed sheets 3 times a week. What makes this hotel special is the location; only 150 meters from the main street and 300 meters from the main square in Platanias, however all apartments are close to the beach and very quiet. The pool area is virtually on the beach. The sunbeds are of the chepest sort, and we thought also that there were to few of them, but apparently most guests prefer the beach (even if the sea was to rough to swim in most of the time we were there), so with few exceptions, there were alwasy sunbeds available. There is a good and reasonably priced lunch restaurant between the pool and the beach.

Based on the standard of the rooms and the pool area, this is an average hotel. What makes me lift it from three to four stars, is the quality of the service of the staff. They are extremely friendly in all respects, really caring and attentive.

Wonderful hotel in such beautiful and clean surroundings. The room was large and had everything we needed, balcony with view. Quiet area, yet so close to the main street.
The hotel is practicly on the beach, but we used the pool much, since the wind was pretty strong at the time we were there, causing much waves. Good service, friendly staff. We had such a wonderful time here, my husband and I, we will definitly choose this hotel next time we return to Platanias. Highly recommended!

I am very torn as to how to rate this hotel. First the good. The setting is spectacuular. The pictures of the pool right next to the beach on the hotel website are absolutely spot on and do not exaggerate how wonderful the setting is. The staff was very friendly, The rooms were adequate if not spectacular. We had two twin beds in the bedroom and two couches that were converted to beds in the living room.

I personally would prefer a hotel that did not charge extra for every little thing: safe deposit box, wireless internet, and air conditioning. To be fair the hotel does state that air conditioning is extra.

Rating all of that, I would rate this hotel as 3*, so that is the rating I am giving the hotel.

BUT...while cats are prevalent all over Greece, the noise we heard every night from outside our room was like something from another world. It literally sounded like the cat was being torn apart or attacked the way it was screetching. It was not one night only, but all three nights we were there. I don't believe the cat belonged to the hotel, but even when we asked, they could do nothing about it. If you are a light sleeper, then I would definitely look elsewhere, unless other reports come back that this is no longer a problem. If you can sleep through anything, then I would consider the hotel. We personally would likely look for another option if we are in the area again.

Great hotel for a relaxing holiday! It is right by the beach and only a short walk from the main street, where all the restaurants and shops are.

Compared to the hotel next door, with loads of screaming kids, the Blue Dome was an oasis of peace. They have a nice little restaurant by the pool, and a bar for getting drinks and even some food. I'm not sure if they serve breakfast - it wasn't included in our package, so we got some delicious bread, tomatoes and feta cheese at the shop close by and enjoyed those on our sunny balcony each morning.

The hotel is owned and run by a family, who apparently live there, too. So the place is really well kept and nice!
