We spent a very pleasant week in the Hotel Yaka in March with 20 friends including parents and children. The hotel was excellent, the staff extremely friendly and the accommodation top class. The hotel is right next to one of the resort ski lifts and is in an excellent location to the Ski resort of Les Angles in the pyrenees. The skiing was fantastic, lots of good snow, plenty of pistes for the beginner right through to the advanced intermediate. Les Angles is a very friendly resort with great skiing, good restaurants and a few nice pubs for 'apres ski'. This was a third trip back and we will go again! Line in the hotel organised everything for us including a bus pick up from Carcassonne. The YAKA is a hidden gem made all the more so by the friendly welcome and helpful staff.

We spent just a few days in the charming ski resort of Les Angles, in the Eastern Pyrenees. We'd never heard of the place before but the incoming agent we used recommended both the resort and the hotel.

The weather was good with just enough snow around to get some good skiing in over two full days. The resort is a real village with people living there all year round which makes a change from purpose-built resorts.

The hotel was simple but extremely clean, warm and welcoming. From the moment we were welcomed at the door we knew that we were in the hands of professionals ... and very human hosts. Always a smile and a word of advice. Rooms are done out in Catalan colours - warm reds and golds - and the views over the village and the lake are terrific. Breakfast is quite an event with a large choice of cold meats, cereals, cheeses as well as the more traditional breads and cakes of France.

All this at less than 50 euros a head per night makes this hotel a very sound choice. And it's only 80 metres from the ski slopes!
