We took our son for a surprise 18th Birthday weekend in Paris.

The hotel was everything we wanted. Of course it has a great location and comfortable rooms but the star turn is the atmosphere!

Great building, beautifully restored, sculpture, paintings and jazz late in the evenings. Located within walking distance of the whole of the classic centre of Paris, this hotel has real style and charm.

I stayed here for a week. It was quiet, and since it's in a neighborhood, there are all the little shops you need for picnic food between the hotel and the train (about 100 yards away).

They were very helpful and I had to learn better French as they spoke no English.

It's only a few minutes to St Lazare station, with frequent trains, and you avoid the high prices of staying in Paris itself.

I'm returning this spring and will stay there again.

Worst experience after traveling on 3 continents.

We arrived on Saturday night and we were supposed to leave on Wednesday. Sunday morning we had agreed to pay on the leave.
The owner changed the lock of the room on Monday while we were away saying that we didn't pay. So Monday night we couldn't enter our room having the owner yelling at us like we were some kind of crooks as a bonus.

The owner is impolite, nervous, slightly xenophobic. It looked to me that he didn't want tourists in his hotel.
