We stayed at Villa Verano for 6 days in the Sea View Veranda room. The room is spacious and well decorated. The room has a king size bed and couch which are both very comfortable. The bathroom has a huge shower and a very large Jacuzzi tub. The staff was outstanding and took care of any of our needs promptly. The entire villa was excellent in every way. The art work adorning its walls were superb. The pool right outside of our room and the beach just a few steps farther provided relief from the heat. We used the rooftop terrace for a small party on our last night. I had caught a huge grouper earlier in the day and we all gathered to have dinner on the roof. The experience at Villa Verano was well worth the cost.

We spent 10 days at Villa Verano with 3 generations of family. The accommodation, setting, service, activities were unparalleled . The concierge , Mary, and the staff were uniformly warm, informative and helpful.
The owners were very gracious and clearly proud of their vacation villa.
The children age 7-15 did not want to leave.
The only advise would be to bring lots of bug spray and have a strategy for dealing with the sand flies, apparently bad during the time of our visit.

I came in for a destination wedding - the accomodations are even better in person than online! The staff is superb, some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. If you are headed to Belize, especially if you are in a larger group - this is ideal. I look forward to a return trip.

We spent the week at Villa Verano 3/12-3/16. We stayed in the Sea Grape which is the second floor of the 3 floor villa. We had 4 adults and 4 children( ages 9-11). Going into the week the one concern we had was the fact that we might be sharing a home with others. This is not an issue at Villa Verano. Each room and floor has its own access. The Villa is also very spacious. The pictures on the website are not emblishied one bit. This place is very nice and truly a wonderful place to stay. I will add that the staff could not have been more warm and attentive.

As far as dining and activities, Hopkins had a suprising number of wonderful places to eat despite it being a small village. We ate at Hamanasi, Barrcuda, Jaguar Reef and Chef Rob's which are all a short walk away. Chef Rob's is literally right next door which was very good and a convenient place to grab breakfast, dinner or even a drink from the bar.

The children loved getting coconuts and opening them up, swimming in the pool and sea as well simpy enjoying the natural areas around the Village. We went to Mama Noots and our families did the Jungle zip line epxerience. The drive was 30 minutes away and both adults and kids really enjoyed this. They staff was very safe and the food afterward was good. We went on a cruise down the Sittee River and saw Crocodiles, Iguanas and all sorts of wildlife. We arranged a day of fishing and snorkeling with all 8 of us. We snorkeled the reef and caught Snapper, Porgie and Yellowtail. Cheryl with the saff at Villa Verano cooked our fish and dinner that night and it was incredible. There were tons more activities to do that we never got around to doing including sailing on the villa's catermoran, going to Monkey River, Jaguar preserve or Mayan ruins.

I went fly fishing with Neil, the owner of the Villa who happened to be visting two days while we were there, and I caught my first permit on a fly. What an incredible day I will never forget. The owner of the Villa is very down to earth and its just nice to know that the owner seemed to relish in our enjoyment of his place. I also went on a guided bonefish and permit trip. We caught bonefish and had permit shots.

A few suggestions: bring plenty of cash as there are no Atm's or banks in Hopkins. If you want to explore Hopkins or visit other stores/eating establishments, I would recommend renting bikes or golf carts, especially with children. The golf cart rental place is a short walk from the Villa.

Hopkins is a small third world village that offers a wonderfully safe and hospitable carribean environment. Everyone we came in contact with was so nice. We highly recommend Villa Verano for couples or families wanting relaxation, activities, good food and incredible accomodations.

Room tip: The master bedroom facing the sea in the sea grape is absolutely beautiful but the curtains are thin and face the rising sun. If you are a late sleeper, which we are not, then you may want one of the other two master bedrooms which are as dark as you want. Each room has its own exquisite bathroom, air condition unit, flat screen tv and comfortable bed. Wifi works really well throughout the Villa.

We came to stay 4 nights in Villa Verona after 4 nights in their affiliated Lodge: Cave's Branch in the Jungle. This mix of Jungle Adventure followed up by Beach Luxury made for a perfect vacation.
Just keep in mind that Villa Verona is not a hotel, it is a villa rental. You can rent individual rooms like we did, but there is no restaurant or full time staff. There was a cleaning lady who came daily, a gardener and a night guard all who were very helpful.
They can also provide breakfast included next door at Parrot Cove, which is very good, but I would go next time without including breakfast since you can cook in your own beautiful kitchen or try out many of the wonderful local places in Hopkins.
We stayed in spacious room #5 which I actually liked better than the Penthouse suite since it opens right onto the pool and the beach!
This home is perfect for a family large or small, a honeymoon spot with lots of privacy or for a huge party of friends! I couldn't help but think it would be an incredible spot for a small destination wedding. Too bad I am already married!
