“wonderful seawater on the "riserva di Torre del Pizzo"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

we had a nice week at the Ecoresort le Sirené , where we had a nice room ( a pity for the light system inside the room ,rather dim )essential but totally renewed ,very clean , we appreciated the kindness of the personnel ( there , you can elect the "traveler of the week " if you like ) and the food was great ,above all the breakfast and lunch buffet under the pine trees ,coming back from the beach! the hotel is rather isolated ,so if you do not have a car , you can either take the summer bus ( Salento in treno e in bus)or hire a bike ;the beach was often windy ,that prevented us frommelting under the heavy heat that was staling above Italy at that time , we almost didn't use the AC( working perfectly ), the sea water was pleasantly refreshing and the was some air too at night ,most of the time ; we'll most probably be back again next year and ,of course , we recommend this place!

“Wonderful sea and beautiful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2010

I would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody! Weather if you're looking for a romantic getaway or if you have kids, this is the right place for you! The hotel is right on the beach and it's very quiet. The building is new and the hotel has a pool, a tennis court, a pinewood with a wonderful trail and a private bathing establishment to which you have full access. The room was spacious and clean and it had a balcony that looked out at the sea and the staff was very helpful and nice. The hotel organized activities for all ages, and all for free: tennis lessons and games for kids, tombola, bingo and very fun cabaret nights. The thing I liked best about the hotel was the restaurant. Since we had an all inclusive package we had every meal there. We had the same waiter for the whole week and we had a menu from which we could choose different dishes and hors d'oevres and cakes were buffet. The food was delicuìious, the best I've ever had! The hotel is also close to Gallipoli, which is a pretty city, to Lecce (about 45 minutes by car) and to some of the best beaches in southern Italy (if you have the chance don't miss Porto Selvaggio, Pescoluse and Porto Cesareo). I would definitely recommend it and I can't wait to go back!

“Nice place, but brush up on your Italiano first!”

We were looking for a sunshine laden family break with a relatively short flight in a part of Italy we had not visited previously.
The hotel was larger than we would have liked but enjoys a stunning location on a fantastic white sandy beach.

We flew into Bari for more convenient flights, but Brindisi is much nearer - 2.5 hour drive bordering on the limit of inconvenience was just about bearable.

The rooms were not large but well appointed. Soundproofing is limited so if you want early nights, make sure you are not overlooking the terrace - very loud music/cabaret until midnight or so.

Pool is large and reasonably clean - however, if you are expecting a diving board - one of our must-haves for our son - it's only on the web photos, not the poolside! The beach shelves gradually and unless the wind is very strong, is perfectly safe, with lifeguard cover too. The beachfront has the usual rows of beds and brollies, just the way the Italians like it, but they do not strech very far, so if you want more than the allotted two square metres, the beach to the south stretches for a mile or so.

It is the last hotel south of Gallipoli, so there are interesting walks, being next to a nature reserve, though a bit too ambitious to walk into town. Hire car was useful as the last shuttle bus leaves and returns quite early. Handy for Lecce sightseeing. Excellent Air Show in Gallipoli at the end of July.

Learn Italian!!! English not widely spoken so the menu was a bit of guesswork. Food was locally sourced and very good, if a bit limited - 3 choices of each course in buffet style.

Overall very good but probably would not return.
