My husband and I stayed at Lila's guesthouse the previous weekend. It was just for a weekend escape in Syros, but beleive me,it was enough to feel the cosiness and hospitality that the guesthouse inspires. First of all, the guesthouse is located in the center of Hermoupolis and everything is nearby on foot. It stands in a quiet road and you feel serene and relaxed with no noise at all from the busy harbour. It is a wonderfully renovated old mansion with pastel colors dominating the interior design. The room was really nice and spacious having all the basic ameninties that anyone could request from a guesthouse. Even the fridge had bottles of water and the basic refreshments, something that you do not usually encounter in greek guesthouses. It was obvious that Mr.Dimitris and his wife Lila (the owners of the guesthouse) created this beautiful place with lots of personal taste and love. The most impotant thing of all, though, was the fact that we encountered the "meaning of hospitality" upon our arrival. Mr.Dimitris was there to welcome us, make us right away feel at home, always willing to offer us suggestions about what to see around the island-and believe me everywhere we went (following his suggestions) was actually great! Even at breakfast time, Mr.Dimitris was there to prepare a delicious breakfast for us and make us feel right at home! If you plan to go to Syros, do not even bother to look elsewhere... If you really want to feel what greek hospitality really means, you've come to the right place! Mr. Dimitris will definetely be there to welcome you with a warm smile on his face!
Thank you for everything!
