“Lovely little hotel but slightly overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel and it was very cosy and clean. We were a little disappointed that we were given twin beds alongside each other rather than a double bed but it didn't affect our stay too much. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very well furnished with complimentary wifi and a flatscreen TV. The hotel has a gorgeous garden with benches and a nice restaurant downstairs. We were there for one night, it was nice but a little overpriced for what it was.

“Nice lunch in a classy hotel with a pretty garden”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2010

There are a variety of menus on offer including a 19 euro two course lunch offering (either entrée and plat or plat and dessert), which was a smoked salmon entrée followed by a fish plat with tomato salsa, both nicely presented and perfectly cooked. The 19 euros included a nice pre-starter, but desserts were extra (our 14 euro choice from the à la carte was excellent). Bread was freshly made and very good (not your average French stick) and coffee was reasonable. Wines at 6 euros a glass were very nice, and the coffee was good. Definitely recommended, and the à la carte choices looked very nice too.

“Lovely hotel, shame we only had one night there”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

We chose this hotel because it's only 20 miles from Cherbourg therefore ideal for catching the ferry the next morning, and were delighted with it. It is quiet, very stylish and beautifully decorated with a very pretty garden. Our room was small but had two windows overlooking the garden, so felt quite spacious, and was decorated in restful shades of blue and grey. The bathroom was good, but the bath sloped down towards the plug slightly which felt a bit weird!

Dinner was excellent, and breakfast simple but good. All in all a wonderful stopover in a beautiful location, which left us wanting to spend more time there.

“A beautifully decorated hotel in a good seaside location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2009

We stayed for just one night and would have liked to stay longer and explore the area more. We had a lovely room overlooking the river. The room was delightfully decorated and the bedlinen was of a high quality. The bathroom was a reasonable size and again very tastefully decorated with grey tiles and a stylish mirror, a far cry from the large soulless hotels. Dinner was very pleasant though the wine list was a bit on the expensive side but that's the exchange rate for you!. Breakfast was very nice with fresh fruit but was expensive and it would be good to include it in the room rate. The hotel is a short stroll from the main street and its a pleasant walk through the town and towards the coast.

“nice hotel but bedroom extremely small”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2009

We stayed here as a stop off on our way back from France before catching the ferry.

The hotel decor was really lovely and the welcome very professional. The hotel is however very small and the bedroom we were allocated was particularly small. I have to say we have never stayed in a room so small and it felt a little claustrophobic. I could not have managed more than one night in the room. There was no mirror in the room only a small one in the bathroom which was a tight squeeze to manoeuvre around in. The lighting was poor so having the only mirror in the bathroom was not helpful.

The bedlinen was excellent quality and the hotel very clean with lovely furniture and fittings.

We had dinner in the garden but had to wait an hour just for our starter and as the night drew in ,it got so dark that we had to move into the hotel to finish off our meal as the lighting was virtually non- existent in the garden. The couple who ran the hotel worked extremely hard but they had too many people in for dinner to be able to cope and we felt very uncomfortable as they frantically ran around trying to appease everyone.

The breakfast was pleasant.

Overall a lovely hotel but the bedroom we had put us off returning as did the rather chaotic dinner in the dark!!

However, the couple running the hotel worked so incredibly hard too cope. If only they could employ a little more help.
