We really enjoyed our stay at Alpana. The staff were friendly and helped arranged our taxi to Rishikesh. The room was clean, the bathroom comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. Just outside the front door is an amazing market/bazaar with good shopping and non-aggressive retails.

This is a hotel plenty of Indians stay at. Finding it was a bit difficuly but we left that to the taxi and ricshaw drivers.

If you are expecting something comparable to a 3 Star hotel in Europe or the USA you'll be disappointed but if you want a good clean safe place to stay coupled with the excitedment of being in the heart of the action then Alpana is fine.

We loved Haridwar; 3 days might be enough though. Get to Rishihesh for your bath in the Ganga - the water is coming straight out of the mountains and is clean.

The hotel is well located for visits to the Har Ki Pari. Rooms are clean and fairly quiet. There is no restaurant. There is limited room service. My friend caught dysentery (not at the hotel). It was a bad deal. The manager was very helpful assisting me to find a hospital and how to get there. Thanks.

we stayed in this hotel in the month of july 2010 for 3 nights. Rooms are spacious, clean with perfectly working central AC. Location is good , very near to the PAUDI, 10 mins. walking distance only. During rainy season, because of the the flow of water, u may feel little inconvinience. Situated in shopping area so you may shop as much you want. Food is okay, variety is less. Value for money. Staff is good, specially an uncle at reception. Overall a nice hotel to stay with partner as well as with family.

I stayed here in december for 1 night with my indian boyfriend.
For Indian mid/price hotels this one is actually value for your money.
The hotel looks nice and is clean! Spacious rooms, and even the bathroom was very clean.
When u walk outside there is a bazaar, and very chaotic.. but u can´t notice this when u are inside. The ganges river is very close! So evening and morning rituals are on less then 5 min walk.
We got discount because it was not the touristic season, we paid Rp 1800. In stead of 2400 rp.
The only thing i did not like was the hotel manager or owner, the man behind the desk.
He was not so friendly and looked at us like he did not want us there.
Probably because i am a western girl, and my boyfriend Indian. that is `not done` in many hotels.
