We have been trying to make it to Corn Island for 4 years and I was determined to make it this year. I looked into hotels on the island and picked La Princesa becuase it had good reviews and was not outrageously priced. I had to email back and forth with Constanza (the owner) a few times becuase the amount of people that were going with us changed a few times. She was very accomadating. I also let them know that I was a vegan and asked if the could prepare food for me and she assured me that they could.
When we arrived there was a person at the airport waiting for us as promised. The hotel is a small three room place at the edge of the water. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and given some info about the island and how things worked around the hotel. The room were large for Nicaragua standards and had a large bathroom. They were clean and nicely decorated. We were the only ones at the hotel so it was very nice to have the place to ourselves.
They have a restaurant onsite and when I asked about vegan food they told me that they had been collecting veggies for me for the past week to insure that they could make food for me. Allesandro (owner) did the cooking and our meals were great! There was pasta to start, salad, entree and a dessert. I had 3 teenage meat eaters with me and they loved the food too. We ate there every morning and night. They even recommended other places for us to eat on the island.
They were very helpful with everything. They talked to the scuba shop for me, called taxis when we needed one and let us play our music on their speakers as loud as we wanted.
Constanza and Allesandro are all about making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They make you feel like you are at home with someone doing the cooking and cleaning for you. We really appreciate their warmth and hospitality. We recommend La Princesa de la Isla to anyone that wants an enjoyable stay on Corn Island.
