This was our third stay at the Bunkhouse, with the last one being about eight years ago. Not much has changed and maintenance has kept the place in pretty good shape. Yes, the motel is made up of converted double wides and the rooms are small --and no, it is not completely sound proof. It is the cheapest stay in Medora, however, and for us, acceptable. It's clean, convenient and has an outdoor pool.
We booked a weekend pakage for two by phone for $193.61--$64.61 for the room, $55.90 for the pitchfork fondue and $73.10 for the musical. The meal was OK. The steaks are always are well cooked, ours were just under well done, but still had some juice and tasted good. The experience of dining on a bluff overlooking the badlands makes up for anything the meal lacks and is worth doing at least once. The musical is pretty basic entertainment. We thought it had been better in past years, but still fun.
There's a lot of things to do in Medora, not the least of which is exploring the badlands and Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
