“Great potential, but overall dissatisfied.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

We stayed at the Woodruff House in the Rooftop Suite. Everything was great until we tried to sleep that night. The mattress was horrible, old and we could feel the springs from below. I barely slept that night and felt sore the next day. We complained to onsite staff, but response was "we're in the process of upgrading." Sorry, but this should have been upgraded long ago. They stay would have been 3 or 4 stars if not for the horrible mattress and no offer of discount or partial refund. Sadly, lots of potential with low satisfaction.

“Very disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We were celebrating our Anniversary and were so excited too get away. We stayed at the Victorian Inn. I heard the restaurant was good based on reviews but it had only 4 items on the menu to choose from one of which was a $40 steak. We didn't eat there but did stop in for dessert. Brownie ala mode & the browning was rock hard! The room was pretty but not quite. I felt like I had to wisper or the neighbors would hear me. The road was right outside the window and we heard the trucks & cars all night. To boot there was a train that went by every couple hrs (At least it seemed that way) both my husband & I had an awful night sleep. We went to breakfast the next moring and were given scrambled eggs, 1 sausage patty and a few diced potatoes..oh and 1 piece of toast. Nothing special at all, my husband was still hungry when we left. We will not be going back.

Room Tip: Don't stay at the Inn...and don't eat there.

“Anniverserary Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

My husband surprised me for our anniversary. We arrived in Luray at the Victorian Inn and was greated by a lovely lady,Donna, who was the manager of the Inn. She had information about the town and local activities. When she showed us our room, The Turret Suite, I was amazed. Not only was the room just beautiful, but he had went over the top with roses, champagne, choc. cover strawberries, and fruit & cheese tray. OMG it was the perfect anniversary surprise. You could tell that the package was put together with love and care.
Later that night, we went down stairs and enjoyed the food at the Victorian Inn Rest. Another surprise in a small town. The food was AMAZING. The Chef (Chef Aris) even came out and welcomed us.
We will be back again and will be telling everyone about our stay.

Room Tip: Respect the town alarm.. and the people who volunteer for the fire and rescue

It was my 3rd business trip in two years so this time I selected Woodruff Inns & Restaurant
as one of my wife’s friends advised me. Donna & Jon have kept Woodruff Inns & Restaurant
in excellent shape. I really praise their hospitality and their way of dealing with all the
guests and I really enjoyed my 3 -day stay. It was a spacious room, yummy food and a
comfortable bed. Thank you Woodruff Inns & Restaurant for making my business trip so
charming and wonderful. I recommend it to all!

Wow, what a beautiful place for a vacation! This was one trip I’ll never forget, me and wife had lovely time together. The staff members were very pleasant. Plus our suite was like a little mansion. Amazing place, beautiful environment and I loved the food. Woodruff Inns is worth going back to!
