“absolutely deplorable motel”

After paying staff for room # 5 in a seedy, damp and outdated lobby, I proceded to my room and struggled with the key which immediately would not unlock the door. This mild encounter is nothing compared to what I was about to witness. At first glance I noticed many cigarette burns on the carpeting. I then noticed a mat right next to the left side of the bed and when I lifted the mat I was horrified. There was an entire section of carpet that was about 13" in diameter completely burned from repeated dropping of cigarette buts from the same location on the bed. I then looked up to the bed where I could see the indentation of someone sitting on the bed in the same location day after day dropping butts after most definately shooting drugs. There were burns throughout the room and in the bathroom on the sink. I also got a strong urge to exit the room. It was obvious what had gone on in that room for a long time from the same person and it was chilling to me when It all clicked in my head. I immediately couldn't stay in that room. When I tried going to front desk, staff was gone for the night. I left and went directly to a nearby chain hotel and comfortably slept the night. It has been almost a week and I still have horrifying thoughts of that room and what went on there and their lack of any type of effort except to throw down a cheap mat and spray some glade around. They could've at least flipped the mattress over. This is real and I would recommend to anyone if traveling through Sagus, MA stay with the chain hotels in the area, trust me it isn't pretty! Thanks

“Beware!!”

We finally located the place, which was our fourth during our stay. First impressions were not good. The reception area was to put it mildly 'grubby', and by some miracle they were expecting us. We were told which room we were in and advised not to use the shower with the door open as it would trigger the fire alarm (some bozo did just that at about midnight).

The block we were in had a strange odour about it and a jolly good clean would have helped. Our room was dark, just about serviceable, but we did not like the look of the strange brown stains in the shower. The TV was an RCA of early 80's vintage devoid of most of its controls, as was the air conditioner, oh and one of the window pains was broken.

Just to complete the scene of delapidation, the car park was partly filled with vehicles awaiting some form of repair at the nearby bodyshop, a sure invite for the local nere do wells to help themselves to your rental car during the hours of darkness. Take my advice, dont go near the place. Luckily we had an early flight and vacated as soon as possible. All in all a right dump.

We enjoyed our stay at the colonial traveler inn. We were able to go on bostons duck tour because of the inn proximity to boston. There is also a lot of entertainment within walking distance of the inn. I would reccommend the place to anyone.

“Comfort at a Cheap Price”

I went to Saugus,MA to spend some time with my girlfriend. We were looking for a clean place to stay in for the weekend, and after reading some reviews from a nearby motel called FERN'S(AVOID IT AT ALL COST,IT'S VERY DIRTY), we decided to stay at Colonial Traveler's Motor Court at a friends request. The people at the front desk are extremely nice and made us feel at home right away. They even walked out with us and led us to our room. They have a quiet 24 room motel, and besides it being real nice, they are extremely clean on the inside. We stayed in room 24, which was the last room on the hallway to the right, and the bathroom was really beautiful as well as the bed. It was really cozy and romantic, and the maids actually called before going to clean instead of the constant knocking at the door in the morning at pricey hotels. I would recommend this motel to anyone, and the best thing is...the price was only $59/night. The mall is nearby as well as other restaurants. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay and whenever we feel like getting away for a little while, this is our new place away from home.
