Solitude is on the outskirts of Estes Park - for us, this was a plus, as "downtown" can be a little more crowded. This gives it a much more secluded feel; we loved it. As with the rest of Estes Park, wild animals sometimes walk around the cabins - if you're lucky, you'll get to see some deer or elk right outside your window!
The cabins were very nice - furnishings were comfortable and modern. The kitchen had everything we needed (dishes, cookware, glasses, utensils, dishwasher, etc.) and the washer/dryer made packing much lighter. Note that the cabins do not *necessarily* come pre-stocked with some stuff (washer detergent, etc.), but previous renters will frequently leave leftover items (we found washer detergent/dryer sheets, coffee creamer, dishwasher soap, etc.), so there's a good chance you won't have to buy that stuff from the overpriced Safeway nearby. The only minor nitpicks we had were that a few lightbulbs had burned out and had not been replaced, and that the pillows were uncomfortable. However, we switched the regular pillows with the decorative pillows, and they were just fine.
The bathroom had a shower/jacuzzi tub combo, with a second vanity sink outside in the master bedroom. The cabin was very bright; we didn't have spectacular views of the mountains from inside, but if we went outside just a little bit, the view was breathtaking. The area was extremely quiet; as we live in a large city, we thoroughly enjoyed sleeping in total silence and darkness.
Management was very friendly; they let us use their computer and printer to check in for our flight and print off boarding passes. In addition, we came in on a holiday and they had a very nice welcome packet waiting for us since they couldn't be there to meet us in person.
If you're looking to check out Rocky Mountain National Park and/or stay in Estes Park, we highly recommend Solitude Cabins - also, if you're only going as a couple, they'll cut you a discount in exchange for only using one bedroom.
