“Great-Great-Great---Can't wait to go back!”

What a wonderful place. This is the first time we've stayed at Spruce Lake and I could tell from the moment we checked in that this was going to be a great place to stay. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The spaces were not as tight as some RV parks we've stayed at. They have a great swimming pool, mini golf course, river is right next to where we were. Our kids had a blast just riding their bikes around with the other kids at the campground. The restrooms were super clean! As was the laundry room. The showers were super big and roomy. I fit myself, and two kids (6yrs and 8yrs) in at the same time! Very nice. The campground is close to everything! We went to downtown Estes Park several days, to the YMCA on other days, and to the RMNP on most days. It was just great. We can't wait to go back. And we will bring family to stay in the cozy cabins at Spruce Lake RV campground! Thanks for helping make our vacation a great one!

“Ok park but felt like a sardine squished in a can!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

The park was clean but very little space between campers. We also bought the fishing passes for the "stocked" ponds. It cost us $60 for 3 passes and we never got a bite. It was much cheaper to go to Trout Haven and pay by the inch. At least we caught some fish there. We were also disappointed that there were no fire pits to roast marshmellows or hot dogs.

“Return to Spruce Lake RV Resort”

We first stayed at Spruce Lake RV Park in 2007 and loved it. We just returned from spending another week there. It is just as we remembered it. Spruce Lake is sparkling clean and in an incredibly beautiful setting nestled in a valley in the Rocky Mountains. Pets are welcome and there are dog walking areas clearly marked.

There's plenty of activities at Spruce Lake with the swimming pool, fishing pond, miniature golf and ice cream socials. There is a large well appointed gift shop, restaurant and grocery store just a short walk through the park and across the bridge over the Big Thompson River. The Campground is ideally located right outside the gates of Rocky Mountain National Park. You can walk into the town of Estes Park, a fabulous town! It's about a one and a half mile walk. It's an easy walk and the weather is ideal most of the time. We saw a bear on this trip that had wandered into town to raid the trash cans. It ended up in a tree for the entire day because so many people came to see him.

Our favorite time is when the elk pay a visit to the campground! I've included lots of elk pictures with this review and hope you enjoy them. You will definitely enjoy your stay at Spruce Lake RV Park, and your time spent in Rocky Mountain National Park exploring it's three beautiful drives that take you deep within the park. We've already made our reservation to spend another week at Spruce Lake next summer.

“Loved this place!”

We loved staying at Spruce Lake! It is like stepping into an old fashioned community - people are out grilling or visiting with their neighbors or fishing in the ponds. Children are throwing balls and playing on the playground. People are friendly. The facilities are clean and excellently maintained. And a great bonus - they stock the pond every two weeks so you're almost sure to catch a beautiful trout for your dinner! And the first evening there were half a dozen beautiful elk strolling through the campground! I would highly recommend Spruce Lake RV Park as a great place to stay for a Rocky Mountain vacation!

Our stay at Spruce Lake was very enjoyable. Upon arival my wife went into the office to check in, I looked across the river to see to young Bull Elk standing in the Willows. The facilities were kept very well, including the bathrooms whcih were nearly spotless. My wife and son went to the pool one evening and said it was fine. All the help there was friendly and helpful, we felt very comfortable there. No complaints, next time out to Estes/RMNP we will stay here again.
