The campground is beautiful and I give the bathrooms a 5 star rating, however, the staff is rude and unreasonable. We were met with immediate nastiness in setting up our camper...we were not allowed to face camper doors towards our friends. We were approached at exactly 10pm at the community firepit, to GO HOME....and were followed all the way to our campsite and told to MOVE ALONG. Friends of ours were told to leave (and left) when their yellow lab's lead was too long (and had been told before to shorten it)....no where did we see in "the rules" was there a specified lead length. Many times during the day and night, staff rode on golf carts with clip board and pen, stopping in front of our campsite, while we were sitting there, and "wrote" things down, which felt a bit intimidating. Other complaints would be the coldness of the pool and that you had to be 18 to be in the hot tub. We did enjoy the close proximity to Estes Park and Rocky Mtn Natl Park, and the campground had some organized activities like fishing tournament and karoake night which were fun.

The lot spaces are way to small, the hot tub wasn't in working condition, dogs are not allowed by lake or in areas', not alot to do, if it hadn't been for the Elk walking through our campsite it would of been a total bummer, and also the company (my family) was great. No campfires!!!???? What is camping without a CAMPFIRE, couldn't even wrap my brain around that one!!! Some of the staff were actually a little rude, the man with a beard and his wife with 3 dogs that were next to us never spoke one time, maybe job change is what they need!!!!! NO GRASS UP KEEP, SAD SO VERY SAD!!!!!!

This was our 1st trip to Spruce Lake and our 1st RV trip. Stayed Aug 22nd thru Aug 26th. Nothing bad to say at all. Loved it! Being RV newbie's we had a few RV probs and Rodney came down from the front office, helped us get our AC working and helped level the RV. Then came back the next day to check on us. Big 6X5 Elk right in our site (#19). Read some reviews before leaving and was a little hesitant, but had no problems at all. Nice quite time of year to go and we will go back!

Stayed here for 3 nights last month - well kept park - staff was helpful with a mixup in our reservation - showers are nice and roomy - wi-fi not consistant at sites & only a little better in office and gathering spots which was a bit disappointing for uploading photos etc.
