“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Good location. Typical Marriott quality. Free breakfast buffet with a good selection of items. Rooms very clean, but the bed was harder than most marriotts. Would stay again.

“Great location for flights”

Turn your rental car in early and take the shuttle from here. Clean quiet rooms with attentive staff. Very helpful in getting us a quiet room when the high school sports teams had many rooms booked. Good breakfast selection (hot entrees are all pre packaged microwaved). Two free use computers with printers allowed us to preprint boarding passes. Stayed one night on points and a second night for a very reasonable price. You can walk to Applebees or other restaurants.

“Clean, simple hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

The ABQ Fairfield near the airport is clean, has a nice lobby and breakfast area, and is very convenient to the airport. I never could get my laptop or iPad to hook up with their wireless network, however. There is a hard cable in the room, but my thin laptop does not have a LAN port. So I had to rely on my Verizon MiFi hotspot. Room was modern enough and clean. No fridge or microwave. Breakfast was a notch below Holiday Inn Express, but still acceptable. Waffles, cold cereal, oatmeal in a packet, microwaveable Jimmy Dean biscuit sandwiches, yogurt, and bananas. Room did not have lotion (a necessity in the dry climate), so be sure to ask for lotion at the front desk upon checking. Nearby road was rather noisy, so I has to run the fan all night to generate some white noise. Part of the problem was that there was about a 3/4" gap between my AC window unit and the wall, so I could actually look through the hole to the outside. Hence my noise issue. Overall, a good stay for the price. Will stay here again.

Room Tip: About 10 minutes form downtown, and 15 minutes form I-25 and Paseo del Norte.

“Don't pack your swim suit.”

I have never written a negative review so this is a first. To most of you this probably wouldn't be a big problem, but it was a major one for us. But attitude is everything in the hospitality business. As my husband put it, "They weren't paying attention to business". We often stay at Fairfield Inn properties, but the front desk staff at this one was more interested in discussing their own weekend plans than providing customer service. My husband has problems with his knees so the first thing we checked on was the hot tub which was located outside. It was empty...no water at all in it. When we went back to the front desk the gals didn't even know that it was empty! How could they not be aware of this problem? They said they would check on it. Hours later it was finally filled, but the water was cold and DIRTY. My husband also encountered other guests who wanted to use it and were disappointed. They also mentioned the attitude of the desk clerks. A call down to the front desk assured us it would be cleaned and ready to use in an hour...NOT. Our room rate was finally reduced to the "friends and family" one, but the whole experience was not up to Fairfield Inn hospitality. Needless to say, we didn't stay here on our return through Albuquerque a week later.
