Booked at last minute - we're really surprised with the great price, staff at desk were friendly and knowledgable of the local area. Added bonus of $30 gift voucher to the restaurant. Rooms were good size and great views. Will recommend.

In mid-November we spent 2 most pleasant nights at this charming hotel with lots of greenery around it Very clean, excellent location, great service and delicious good-value food and drinks. The staff, in particular Gretchen, Matt and James were not only very nice to us but also very efficient...Henri Gautschi

I stayed here in November because I was going to the Spanish Traditional Art Market that was being held in their conference center. But I loved the hotel, and the next time I go to ABQ, that's where I'm staying.

The main hotel building is ugly when seen from a distance, but the rooms are actually nice - large, bright, well-decorated, and each one with a private balcony with great views over the town and to the mountains.

The lobby - my favorite place - is lovely and there's a big fireplace. There's a daytime bar for the patios and gardens, which are lovely, and they have a very nice restaurant. Happy Hour in the bar is fun and the snacks are good.

The staff was extremely pleasant and I felt very welcome. WiFi was excellent and everything else, including toiletries and coffee, were excellent. I didn't use the pool because it had closed for the winter but we had pool towels because the Jacuzzi was open, although I never had time to visit it.

I'm taking away one star because the morning service in the restaurant was very slow the day I left, and if I had had to make a plane or do some scheduled activity, I would have abandoned my table. They need to work on that, because a lot of people actually do need to eat breakfast in under 1 1/2 hours.

Otherwise, great place and highly recommended.

Room tip: I think they're all outside rooms with a view, either to the east or the west (it's a narrow building), and all of the rooms that I glimpsed looked good. The outside areas - garden or patios - are nice and you can get a glass of wine and sit outside and take the sun even in the winter when there's no table service.

Carleigh at the front desk went out of her way to ensure a problem with the heater in our room was fixed. We were given a breakfast voucher and a cup of coffee for the disruption to our sleep.
Carleigh was very efficient and cordial about this and our checkout as well.

Leo in the dining room was also extremely helpful as he served us - making suggestions that
helped our lovely breakfast be perfect for each of us.

The hotel is very convenient to Old Town and a nice facility.

Room tip: Get one on a higher floor with a balcony where you can see the city and mountains.

I will preface this review with that much of the annoyance with fellow hotel stayers was probably a result of the time of the year we stayed. We booked two night at the hotel on one of the bigger weekends for holiday parties. No surprise to find well-dressed patrons roaming the hallways half sober at 1am.

That being said - the hotel was fantastic! No sooner arriving to do you know you have gotten quite a steal of a hotel! Front desk was more than curtious and were extremely knowledgeable of the area. The lobby was beautiful and dressed with all the seasonal trimmings including a 20ft tree in the center.

We stayed two nights and although we were short towels and coffee the first night, management made a great effort to equip us with more towels promptly as well as "extra" coffee the day after to make up for not having any in the room the day before.

Rooms are cozy but you definitely know you're in a luxury hotel. Cleanliness was never an issue and room maintenance is clearly a priority to the staff. The surplus of television channels wasn't too bad either.

Restaurant was fantastic and although we only ate one meal there, it was constantly bussling and even featured live music on Friday night.

All in all, it was a great stay and given the opportunity, I would highly recommend staying the night if for one or several nights. The location is great for trips into old town or downtown ABQ.

As a side note, when we addressed the issue of noise with a manager, he made every attempt to compensate us. If we hadn't booked through a third party, I have no doubt the manager would have done everything in his power.

Two thumbs way up!
