The High Street Inn was recommended to us and we were not disappointed! This huge Victorian home was beautifully and comfortably appointed. The rooms were very large and the beds very comfy! Breakfast was tasty and filling. Our hostess Tina was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. She did not steer us wrong for sightseeing or dinner suggestions. There were several unexpected pluses, which I'll let you discover for yourself!

My wife and I were referred to the High Street in and found it charming and confortable. Our hosts, Tina and Eddie, were very nice and very helpful. The Bollingbrook room was spacious and gracious. The bed was very comfortable.

We were just stopping on our way soutth from the DC area and were put off by the prices in the Williamsburg/Norfolk area so we figured Peretsburg is on the way. Old Petersburg was surprisingly interesting. We had not allowed ourselves time to see the things we found but now we have reason to go back. And we will stay at the Inn again.

They recommended a British pub and since Eddie is British, figured it would be good. I'd say it compares very well against the best pubs I'd been in in southern England.

Spent 2 nights at this beautifully decorated old house. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The Appomattox room was HUGE, nicely appointed and had LARGE bathroom with an old fashioned clawfoot tub/shower. While in Petersburg eat at Andrade's which is a short walk from the High Street Inn - we took Tina's advice and tried it. The food is a feast of Mexican and Cuban flavors and the staff friendly.

My husband and three young children just recently returned from a week long stay at the High Street Inn. I cannot say enough about the accomodations or the generosity of the Innkeepers.

First of all, they were very welcoming to our family and extremely kind to our children. We have stayed at many B&Bs and generally find it difficult to locate any that are willing to take children. If they do, many times they are "uptight" wondering what kids might do to their Inn. This was not at all the case here. Tina and Eddie could not have been more gracious.

The room we stayed in was beautiful and "authentically historic" as was the main part of the house. The little extras like the lemon cookies, the wide variety of newspapers, the aromatic candles and soothing music created just the right ambiance. Tina is an excellent cook (maybe too much so..) and was quick to anticipate anything we might need or want. Eddie also was very helpful from helping with our luggage to finding us directions for some of our sightseeing. This was Southern charm and hospitality at its best.

We left feeling as if we had made new friends. I really hated to leave. All in all, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing and truly enjoyable stay. You will not be disappointed!!!
