We were greeted warmly by Linda, one of the innkeepers, who lead us through the main building where breakfast is served and each evening hors-d’oeuvres are available, DVD's and videos can be selected, and information about local restaurants and attractions is offered. We were then taken to our room and it's many amenities and instructed in their use. Some of these include a fireplace and central heating (which is nearly silent), a fully stocked CD collection compiled by mood and complete with separately adjustable volume control in the bathroom where the whirlpool tub is located, and finally, a DVD and video equipped television. We were then offered several breakfast times for the following morning.
The Bathroom is roomy and equipped with a Jacuzzi style tub that easily accommodates two. Ample towels, shampoo, body wash, and real lavender room spray is available. There is also a separate shower.
Each morning we made our way through the gardens to the Great Room where breakfast was served. We were spoiled with a four-course meal while looking out through the grand windows at the lush gardens and beautiful ocean view. The food, the service, and, Peter the other innkeeper, were equally excellent.
In the evenings, we went out to edge of the lawn look down the cliff to the ocean and listen to the waves crash against the cliffs. We are also supplied with professional binoculars to look out at the stars. The outside too was superb. The grounds were professionally groomed and well laid out. The gardens were dense, lush and full of many different flowers and exotic plants. Seating areas are hidden in the foliage and one next to an attractive little waterfall. The sound of the waves breaking can be heard from the front lawn where Victoria, Canada can be seen across the ocean as well as beautiful flowers and trees.
Wine tasting, lavender farms, fine restaurants, and plenty of activities are all within reach.
Typically, there is something I wish was different. This cannot be said about Colette’s
