We had an awards banquet a couple blocks from the quality inn. I called the day to make reservations. The clerk who answered was very helpful and asked why i was coming to town. She also informed me that other people from our group would be staying with them. I later called back to reserve another room for my son. I did not feel good about him driving home on such a cold night. The night clerk was great about transfering all my information so I could get back to the party. When I checked in he told us to stop in if we needed anything or wanted a cookie. I went back to the party and picked up my family. My younger son said he was hungry, so we stopped by the office, the cookies had been put up for the night, but the clerk went back and got him some cookies. Every one was so nice and breakfast the next morning was really good. Thank you

The people at Quality Inn Uptown are very friendly and go out of their way to help and the rooms are clean. The rates were in the $70s for two people in October. The hotel rooms are a little tired (they need to do some cosmetic work) and the rooms are small, but the location and the staff make up for it. The hotel is located just above downtown--very easy walking distance, with a view of the harbor. They're only two blocks away from the ferry dock. My daughter and I made the mistake of leaving our SLR camera on a chair at the table where we had eaten our breakfast (the food was average but a decent selection--always someone on staff checking to make sure the selection is stocked well). After checking out we drove off leaving our camera behind and were in line for the ferry to Victoria when we received a phone call from the hotel. We were able to quickly drive back to the hotel where they had our camera waiting at the front desk for us and get back to the ferry dock and into line in 5 minutes.

Lucked out by booking room 224, little more expensive but worth every dime, the balcony and view made this a really great find. Food, wallpaper, bed, carpet etc etc were all of a Quality Inn standard and what one would expect, but the elevation and view of the ferry sailing away early morning was what made it most enjoyable. The Ohio staff could not have been more helpful.

We have stayed at the Quality Inn when on holidays during the last three years and have been very pleased with the service, accomodation and continental beakfast, inclucing the Belgium
waffles. The reception staff have been very proffesional, friendly and helpful in answering our holiday questions.
