We stayed here for one night in July 2009. Our plan was to take the ferry to Victoria the next morning, so we wanted to be in Port Angeles. We discovered that Port Angeles is extremely expensive (way over-priced for what is there)--most places wanted over $150 a night, the Sportsmen wanted $85 (tax included). The Sportsmen motel looks like it was built in the 1940's, and it has been maintained. The bathroom had a new shower/tub unit that was clean, but the sink was the smallest thing I'd ever seen! The beds were hard and the blanket/cover were a bit dubious. Our room actually had a kitchen, front room and bedroom (the front room had a queen bed and small tv with cable). There is no AC, but there was a fan. I wouldn't stay here again, but I'm a bit more picky--I just didn't feel as safe as I would in a hotel with modern locks and more people. Anyway, if we were to do the trip again, we'd take an afternoon ferry over to Victoria and spend the night there--or stay in the next town over, Sequim, which was really cute and had lots more choices of accommodations.
