“I don't get it”

There are so many great reviews of this place, I just don't understand the discrepancy between all those great reviews and what an absolute filthy dive this was. Perhaps we were given a room that was substandard and yet to be renovated? Our room definitely was not clean, was not spacious, did not have decent furniture and was not pleasant in any way. Furthermore, even the outside looked like a dive (sheets in the office windows for curtains!). Bizarre.

I caution all who read these reviews to be suspicious and to look at a room before committing to a stay.

“Nice stay in Port Angeles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2006

There was some minor maintenance and maybe a few upgrades in decor needed, but there was something about the ambience of this place that I really loved. The rooms were extra spacious, and some of the furnishings very nice, with a configuration that suggested that maybe it was an apartment once. The result was a very homey-looking and comfortable stay. The mattresses were OK and there was a refrig, micro, cable TV, and a newspaper. There was a nice indoor pool in a building that looked like a greenhouse. The staff were very friendly and nice.

  • Liked — Low price of $68, ambience
  • Disliked — a few upgrades needed, but still nice

stayed st this motel, july 5th.2006-i had tried to find such a hotel/motel on expedia and travelocity without success-actually discovered it on the coho ferry website. we were given room 301[smoking rm.was located on the third floor but because of the dual level parking lot we only had to walk up one flight. the room was amazing-windows on one side had great view of the olympia mountains and the windows opposite had a view of the ocean. the room was immaculate, with matching cherrywood furniture 27"television with more channels than i was aware of. there was a sanyo steel fridge and microwave.beds were really comfortable. bathroom was a little on the small side but compensated by the large room. there is a covered heated pool and a finnish sauna. for the cost of $68.00 this was by far the greatest room for value we have ever stayed in.

“Great Views and Very Affordable”

We stayed at the Flagstone on June 11 and had a great time. The rooms were very affordable and reasonably clean. The view from the room was spectacular! The pool and sauna is in a separate building from the hotel, but the pool is heated and worth the short walk in the cold.

“The Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2005

A friend and I have just recently stayed at the Flagstone Motel in Port Angeles on the advice of a co-worker who was impressed with her stay there.
We were planning to ride our bikes on the Discovery Trail. The location is perfect. It was about 4 blocks from the entrance to the trail. We found our room very clean and a gift pack had been placed on the bed. We had samples of several products in them.
Later in the afternoon upon returning we found a newspaper had been placed on the bed. The couple who manage the motel were most helpful, giving us directions and suggestions for restaurants. We were given a card for $5.00 off lunch at one restaurant.
Because of the 4th of July weekend we expected we would have to endure some noise from celebrators. Not so! The manager walked around late in the night to listen for noise to make sure everything was quiet for those of us who preferred sleep.
Upon leaving, my senior friend discovered she had a flat tire on her bicycle. The tube she had with her did not fit. The manager called several stores until he found a place that carried the proper size. He then gave her a ride to Wal-Mart to buy her tube. He also fixed the tire when they returned. The personal attention given to us was most appreciated.
I can't imagine staying anywhere but the Flagstone on my next visit.
