“Loved the Flagstone Motel!!!!”

I stayed at the Flagstone Hotel for 4 nights at the end of April, 2005. Management, a young couple, was very friendly, helpful, informative and most accomodating. The room was wonderful with a view of the snow-tipped mountains looking one way and a view of the water the other way. It also had a fridge and microwave. I couldn't have been more pleased. On top of that, the price was excellent - a lot less than most other establishments in town. I would highly recommend this motel.

“Wonderful New Managment & Spacious clean rooms”

When my husband and I came to the green side of Washington,
we stayed at the Flagstone Motel. We heard it was under new management and thought we'd give it a shot.
We were treated very well, we found them to be very pleasent people. We loved the spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Our stay in Port Angeles was really nice and it all start with the afforable rates and a good nights sleep at the Flagstone Motel. Oh yea, the pool and sauna were a added bonsus to our stay!

“Awesome value - We had a great time”

We had a wonderful stay, quite different from what others here wrote. A young couple have taken over management, and they were super friendly and accommodating. The room was huge and clean, and what a bargain for such a low price. They don't nickel-and-dime you -- have as much coffee/tea/hot chocolate as you want, no charge for an extra cot, etc. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. The kids loved the pool and sauna. We will definitely stay there again when we're in Port Angeles. The decor was simple, but still one of the nicer hotels/motels I've ever stayed in (and I've done quite a bit of travelling). Even has a fridge and microwave in the room. What a bargain! Whey pay three times the price for something that's no better (and often worse)?

Three of my colleagues and I had the horrid misfortune of having The "Flagstone Mol" (the "t" and the "e" on the sign had burned out) recommended to us as a nice place to stay while we attended a training in Port Angeles recently. Upon first glance, my better judgement abandoned me and I didn't object to this being our destination for the night. (First Mistake) We asked to view a room prior to making a final determination regarding staying the night there. The room I shared with a coworker smelled of a locker room, while the room my other coworkers were to stay in was acceptable. Again, better judgement fled and I didn't object. (Second Mistake) The decision to stay at the "Flagstone Mol" now behind us, we went to dinner. Upon our return, as we walked though the parking lot having a conversation at a reasonable decibel level relative to being outside, we were verbally reprimanded for being too loud and for doing so after 10pm. Apparently our voices pierced the single pane windows with the faulty seals and caused a tremendous amount of discomfort to the visibly bitter and grumpy desk attendant. Better judgement now back with me, I decided not to make a bigger issue of this encounter and retired for the night. Upon checkout the next day, I asked for a comment card. After explaining what a comment card is, the staff member asked if I planned to write about the "mean lady that was such a --- to ya the night before" - her words. I told her we thought it was unnecessary and also informed her the time of the incident was actually 8:55pm and not after 10pm as she indicated. She said she would apologize, but made sure to point out that we were louder than we thought and they have "workers" that live there that get up at 4:30am that need their rest. (She never actually apologized) That point apparently made without consideration for any of the rest of their paying customers. Bottom line is this.....I've had to selectively lobotomize myself so as to not have to relive that nightmare. Save your money, drive a mile up the road, stay someplace else, be able to maintain your dignity as well as the structural integrity of your brain.

“Rude staff”

I just happened to call in the early morning to see if they had a vacancy and if they were open. A very rude person answered the phone and yelled at me for calling early. I asked why they would answer the phone if they were closed, they said a few inappropriate things then hung up on me..not a good way to treat perspective customers. I will not be staying there!
