Three of my colleagues and I had the horrid misfortune of having The "Flagstone Mol" (the "t" and the "e" on the sign had burned out) recommended to us as a nice place to stay while we attended a training in Port Angeles recently. Upon first glance, my better judgement abandoned me and I didn't object to this being our destination for the night. (First Mistake) We asked to view a room prior to making a final determination regarding staying the night there. The room I shared with a coworker smelled of a locker room, while the room my other coworkers were to stay in was acceptable. Again, better judgement fled and I didn't object. (Second Mistake) The decision to stay at the "Flagstone Mol" now behind us, we went to dinner. Upon our return, as we walked though the parking lot having a conversation at a reasonable decibel level relative to being outside, we were verbally reprimanded for being too loud and for doing so after 10pm. Apparently our voices pierced the single pane windows with the faulty seals and caused a tremendous amount of discomfort to the visibly bitter and grumpy desk attendant. Better judgement now back with me, I decided not to make a bigger issue of this encounter and retired for the night. Upon checkout the next day, I asked for a comment card. After explaining what a comment card is, the staff member asked if I planned to write about the "mean lady that was such a --- to ya the night before" - her words. I told her we thought it was unnecessary and also informed her the time of the incident was actually 8:55pm and not after 10pm as she indicated. She said she would apologize, but made sure to point out that we were louder than we thought and they have "workers" that live there that get up at 4:30am that need their rest. (She never actually apologized) That point apparently made without consideration for any of the rest of their paying customers. Bottom line is this.....I've had to selectively lobotomize myself so as to not have to relive that nightmare. Save your money, drive a mile up the road, stay someplace else, be able to maintain your dignity as well as the structural integrity of your brain.
