“Quite a nice place but..........”

We recently stayed for a week (as a timeshare exchange). The resort is getting a little dated but on the whole well looked after. The staff were all friendly.

My problem was with the facilities.
I was not informed when booking the exchange, nor when checking in, that the indoor spa, sauna and gym were no longer available (actually ripped out). Not sure what they will do with the space. I enjoy saunas and spas!

The outdoor pool and spa area really could do with updating as it is showing age. The side jets of the outdoor spa were not working, one of the drains on the floor of the spa was broken and tiles patched up.

On the Monday of our stay, a group of teenagers (apparently from a large family who owned at the resort) broke one of the handrails for the spa (just about ripped it out of the ground). This meant we could not use the outdoor spa for most of the time we stayed there. I know that is not the resorts fault but with the indoor spa gone, it was very dissapointing.

The villa we stayed in was nice, I think recently updated. A lovely view, just a bit awkward to drive in and out of (though we were told on checking in and if it was too much of a problem, they would have moved us). A lot of birds, we liked that.
Apparently other wildlife "hangs around", we didn't see any but would have liked to.

Very handy for the beach (if that is "what you're into"). About 3 minutes walk. The beach is also patrolled.

Also, close by, there is a small parking area by the side of the lake. It's a good spot to watch the sunset. We missed seeing a full sunset but I can imagine how nice it would be!

Some people may not like that it is a bit of a drive to Forster but, having previously known about the location, it was not an issue for us.

I would stay again but would like to think that the updating of the pool area be done and another spa and sauna be in place.

Room Tip: If not mentioned, ask for a villa with an open view rather than overlooked.

“what a wonderful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 May 2011

We have just returned from 2 weeks stay over the very busy Easter period and had an absolutely wonderful time. The children's program was fantastic and the heated pool and spa was just great - made swimming in Autumn a pleasure. The staff at this resort were fantastic and made us feel extremely welcome throughout the whole week - nothing was to much trouble. We met Nick & Susan (the managers) are joined them in the rec room of an evening for coffee & cake and a game chess on the giant outdoor chess set. As we had such a wonderful time we are booking again for the Sept school holidays. We have read through some of the comments below and believe me the negative ones are definately not true - obviously there must have been an issue with these guests perhaps - attitude!

“Strange to say the least”

the resort is a little dated but the surrounds are great. Would be so much better if the management realised that they are in hospitality and not some control camp, the manager is quite rude and the least thing seems to be a problem with her.We decided to leave a day early and loaded our vehicle, we left some items in the fridge and went t to the villa that our friends were in and told them about the food we had left for them. Within 10 minutes the manager had taken the food items for himself.

“Pacific Palms Resort is a beautiful, friendly place for anyone to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2010

My husband, myself and our son stayed at Pacific Palms Resort and had a wonderful experience. Nick and Susan were very friendly and willing to help us find any attraction that we wanted to visit. Nick told us where to go find kanagaroos in the wild. Coomba has kangaroos laying in the front yards of family homes as if they were little pets.

Our cottage was well stocked with utensils, linens, etc. As we sat on our balcony, we could hear the ocean just over the hill. There is a beach in walking distance. There are a lot of trees around the cottage. It is a beautiful, well taken care of area.

There are small towns close by for shopping and a lot of restaurants. I think we tried a new restaurant each night we were there.

Nick made a real Australian breakfast for us one morning and it was fantastic and a lot of it. There is also an open air market just down the hill from the resort on Sundays.

There are laundry facilities available also. This was a real plus for me.

Thank you Nick and Susan for making our stay with Pacific Palms Resort so enjoyable.

“Great little resort, friendly management and great position”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2010

Had a great time, good pool, fitness room and great position. Found the management friendly and helpful and very accomadating.

Great spot to tour from and only 20 mins from good little seaside town Forster Tuncurry or twin towns in reality.

Used laundry room and pool during our stay, Villa little dated but quite comfortable and good shower. Like the area very much , four great beaches nearby
