“Like going to heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We spent our 20th anniversary at the Kea Lani. The staff was amazing, the suites comfortably large and beautiful. There are 3 pools, including an adult only pool, and direct access to a beautiful beach. The only problem for us was that the food at the restaurants is very expensive, really overly expensive. We had such a wonderful time and will always remember it.

“Fabulous Hotel”

My husband and I stayed here with our daughters, ages 8 and 10. It was perfect. Hotel is really very nice and the pool and beach are great. Ideal location -- less than 20 minutes away from many, many beaches -- all a bit different from one another and none particularly crowded (despite the holiday week we visited).

We had a suite for the 4 of us, with plenty of room. Really nice having the extra living space. Also the outside porch was like an extra room. Overlooked the pool and a bit of a view of the ocean.

“Wonderful experience, beautiful honeymoon and unforgettable memories.”

Amazing and beautiful resort. Where do I begin .. We stayed in the fairmont 7 nights in december for our honeymoon, When u walk in, the bellman helps with your bags, check in was a breeze, beautiful flowers around your neck as well as a tropical drink. Beautiful lobby overlooking the ocean. The bell man (ekoulu) showed us to our room and explained everything, he was very polite and told us a couple of spots to eat.
The concierge was BIG help with everything (my favorite was Missy) they told us about activities, shopping and restaurants. I had a problem with one of the activities and told Audrey at the concierge, she took it to the manager right away and took care of that, I even got money back.
Restaurants were outstanding!!! From nicks fish market to the beautiful Ko restaurant. The breakfast buffet was very nice and had a lot of choices to choose from. The chef there makes the best omelette.
Our room was very luxurious and spacious. We had a deluxe ocean view suite, with a to die for view! The room had coffee, tea, refrigerator and a microwave. It felt like home.
The beach was very nice and private, it's way better than waliea beach. Polo beach has clean sand and clear water. The biggie boards made it a trip to remember.
The only incident that we did not like at the fairmont was the pool service. Very horrible!!!!! My husband and I had a cabana, so we went to the pool area to tell them and a young man said pick which ever one you want. We did just that, and we had already ordered food and drinks, and some man from the hotel comes and says "who said you could sit here" I told him we rented one and the young man said to sit wherever. He said "well I'm the supervisor and you have to move, this one is taken." so rude and cocky. My husband and I felt so embarrassed. We literally moved infront of everyone starring, picking up our own food as if we were not apart of the hotel. I was so furious I went to another pool man and told him what happened with tears because I was so angry and he apologized. At least someone did, the other cocky man did not even acknoledge anything had happened. It's service like his that make you want to tell friends and family not to go to the fairmont, but I'm not going to let one bad service ruin the amazing service of the hotel, that just won't be right. And another thing, my husband and I watched that specific cabana the whole day and night from our room and NO ONE sat on it, he was just being a rude liar.
All and all the fairmont is a wonderful choice for honeymooners and families who just want to get away and relax, the fairmont kea lani is beautiful. My husband and I will defiantly make another trip in the future.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and allowing us to be a part of your honeymoon. It is incredibly rewarding to learn that our resort felt like home and you left with memories that will last forever. However, it is disheartening to hear how one of our employees failed to provide you with the helpful and friendly service we are known for and you deserve. I would like to sincerely apologize and ensure you that your comments are taken very seriously and will be addressed. Congratulations on your new marriage and we look forward to having you as a guest in the future.

“A great hotel but a few points to note if you don't have kids in tow...”

For families, I can't imagine there is a much better hotel than this. But for younger couples looking to get away from kids, this is may not be the best place.

They have a very nice lobby bar that is unfortunately closed half the day, and adult pool area doesn't serve drinks and kids hang out at the only swim-up bar. I'm kicking back on vacation and it just seemed like too much of a hassle to get a little day drinking going. The main pool and beach areas were swarming with kids but that may have been more of a product of the month of December than being a Disney land regularly.

The beach area was great. Our room was beautiful and spacious - basically a suite. The bathroom was impressive as it was like a wing unto itself. There are so many big mirrors in there that you may learn more about yourself than you want to when you get out of the shower. The beds were a little too firm and the blankets were not breathable and way warmer than you need. Housekeeping rushed some emergency dry cleaning for me in less than 24hrs which was sincerely appreciated. The food and service was great all around but the lunch menu was disgustingly overpriced. I had a Ahi sandwich for lunch at the Beach Tree in Four Seasons on the Big Island for around $20 in a beautiful setting by the beach and it was probably the best sandwich I ever had in my life, but charging $25 for a poolside wrap with kids screaming about? I don't think so, Fairmont...

The location may not be as convenient as Lahaina but it is less than 30 minutes from anywhere you need to go (Maalaea bay, Makena beach/cove, airports, etc). If you are a shopper, there is a big mall in walking distance and there are also plenty of restaurants nearby (be sure to have breakfast at Longhi's).

Room Tip: The closer to the lobby, the better.

“Excellent resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Our first trip to Hawaii (quite far from Italy!) but my friend of the American travel agency was right: excellent resort.
We spent 6 nights at the end of October.
Even if there were some restructuring we did not have any problem.
Very nice and large suite, excellent double sinks bathroom.

Room Tip: Of course Ocean view
