“Beautiful location and property”

We love coming her to relax and enjoy the beautiful pools. The rooms are very nice and I think they all have views of the ocean. The property is gorgeous and has a real open air feeling. We enjoyed the relaxing Spa and beautiful surrounding. I would say the food is lacking though as the restaurants need to be updated. The food just isn't up to the quality of this hotel and doesn't match the level expected. I would stay here again but the food definitely needs to be upgraded.

“Less than expected.”

My wife and I had heard many wonderful things about this hotel and were excited when we had the chance to go to this hotel for a business conference. The grounds are very well manicured and the pools and beach are nice. The restaurants are very nice and I hope to visit them again. The rooms are not that great and definately not worth the price. We stayed in a Deluxe Garden room. The paint was bubbled from water damage down one wall. Both beds were badly out of level. We tried to get a different room, one with a king bed like we had originally asked for, but were told the hotel was sold out. My sister and her husband were staying next door at the Four Seasons. Their room was much nicer. If I have another conference in Wailea, I think we will stay there.

Room Tip: Stay at a different hotel, then go and visit the Grand Wailea's grounds

“Expensive and crowded”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We were here for a business trip/family vacation. The first night while kids were swimming their stuff was taken. Apparently if you leave your belongings for more than 30 mins security "picks it up". Some of it was returned but new sandals were gone forever. After that kids wouldn't swim unless I was there to guard their clothes. The place was PACKED! It was difficult to find a chair unless you went early in the day. We stayed in a terrace room that was nice except it smelled musty and if you opened the door we got to listen to them pumping the septic. Food and Beverage were outrageously expensive...so best to find some restaurants surrounding or go into Kihei, where prices were a little more reasonable. On the GOOD side, the staff was wonderful. All were very helpful and genuinely nice. We loved the greeting on arrival.
Some suggestions outside of the Hotel...We went to Lahaina to Surf (excellent), Big Beach for just good old fashion playing in the waves, ziplining, and scuba diving.

Room Tip: We had a Terrace Room on the 7th floor...We had a view of the ocean and sunset from our lanai. VERY...

“Terrific grounds, great art, and comfortable rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This is my second conference at this location and both times my partner joined me. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stays here - though purchases on the grounds are a bit over the top in price. The grounds and common areas are lovely, and it has good beachfront. The art on the grounds is terrific ( they offer an art tour) and there are lots of options for sitting by the pools (and the lazy river). Our room did not really offer an ocean view, but it looked over a garden, and was quiet and comfortable. The room itself was spacious and well-appointed and the honey mango bath products smell delicious!! The restaurants on location are quite expensive - but, to tell the truth, the food is quite good.
The $20 resort fee includes wi-fi connection throughout the property but the additional mandatory valet parking fee of $30 a night was outrageous. And the beverages are just a bit too spendy. Bring in your own or buy a few things at the store on the property.

Room Tip: The garden rooms are quiet, but the ocean view rooms are fantastic.

“Top Notch!”

My wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. This is a top-notch facility where you can relax and be spoiled. The location and views are awesome as well as the staff. Of course high quality means higher prices so don't be too shocked if you spend $80 for lunch at the pool grill for two with a couple drinks. Money well spent at Grand Wailea! Even the valet was most helpful lending a hand to lower/raise the top of the Jeep rental. Dinner on site at the open-air restaurant was excellent and also romantic at sunset. Don't forget to ride the water elevator at the pool too! Fantastic upscale shopping beside the property as well. There are plenty of local things to do also. Go about the island and explore but skip the trip to Hana.

Room Tip: The higher floors gives you the best views from your balcony over the palm trees to the ocean.
