“JUST GREAT”

we had a week at the club green world at the start of september, nice hotel, great reception staff (english) which we found a great help, the hotel has a lift to all levels ,the rooms are a good size we had a one bed bedroom apt at the back of the hotel which was good as there was no noise, the rooms were clean and towels were changed 3times that we were there, there is as restaurant on site but it was a little run down ,could do with a bit of T.L.C.Out side the hotel you could get a taxi to town( get a price before you get in the cab) or there are dolmus which are 1.5 lira in to town or 2.5 lira to marmarris ,we took the dolmus which started at about 7 in tthe morn till very late at night, there are plenty of places to buy the things you will need for your stay, the mini market on site was not up to a lot ,the pool bar was ok ,there was a lot of bees about but they did not cause that much trouble ,there was some things that that were not that good ,depending on who you spoke to the cost of the a\c was £30-40 per wk also £15 .00 per week for a safe, which i think is a bit over the top on both of them, the thompson rep is the best rep we have ever had, and we have been to turkey 8 times in last 3 yrs,we have booked again for next year as we love icmeler.

“A lovely hotel, but may be a bit far out for some!”

Holiday review

A last minute booking for a relaxing weeks break. My husband and I had a poolside ground floor room which was ideal as we could pop in and out of the room via the patio doors when it got too hot. Our room was clean and spacious, beds were comfy. The pool is large, plenty of sun beds to go around so there was no problems with people reserving sun beds, so we could lie in no problems. The restaurant area was a little run down, old furniture and holed table linen.

We had a Turkish mud bath and massage on site which was lovely, as there was just the 2 of us, which I preferred to the large communal Turkish bath trips available.  It lasted 3 hours and was well worth £55 in my opinion.

Although we didn't eat at the hotel at night, preferring to go into town, the daytime menu was adequate, and service was quick, and included snacks, sandwiches and breakfasts, all with chips!

The hotel is a fair way out from town,  but dolmus and taxi were always waiting outside. It only cost 1.50 lira each into town, and took about 5 minutes. For those of you keen on walking, our rep on the bus on the way in said it was about a 10 minute walk to town It took longer than that on the coach! Actually it's about 45 minutes walk at a good pace, so a good couple of miles, and a large part if it is a poorly lit residential area, and I wouldn't recommend doing it alone. We walked back one night about midnight, and I was slightly alarmed by the howling of packs of dogs coming from the nearby woods!

The hotel itself is set at the base of wood covered mountains, very idyllic, but did have the downside of their being lots of wasps. Many people were stung.  Even swimming was a challenge as the pool was full of them.

The animation team provided night time entertainment, the usual Turkish night and karaoke, but during the day there was only the daily bingo game to amuse. Slides are open for half an hour twice a day, but approach with caution as every day I witnessed people coming away from there limping or bleeding!  The poolside music left a lot to desired. Sometimes it was extremely loud and appeared to be more for the entertainment of the animation team rather than the guests who I would say were mostly older people, it being out of school holidays. There was a lot of club music, quite a few with bad language so be aware if you have kids!

There is a mini Market on site, with the emphasis on mini! It sells only UHT  milk, and some days no bread, only crackerbread available. Would recommend the supermarket in town if you plan on attempting self catering, with 2 hobs, a toaster and a kettle!

Overall, a lovely holiday. Icmeler is a smashing resort with plenty nice places to eat and drink, and I'd stay at the greenworld again.

“Loved this Place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

This place was amazing! We stayed there for 10 days in the middle of August and although it was a bit out of the way, it was only 5 minutes into Ichmeler on the dolmus. It was a little more expensive in the hotel, but when we factored in the cost of six of us travelling to Ichmeler it worked out to be not much different.
The staff were amazing, their work ethic was second to none and they were always keen to help. At night we were warned about the wasps, but I can honestly say that we NEVER had a problem with them.
The shops on site serve their purpose and Aydin who runs the Turkish bath and barbers is an amazing guy. He was always there to offer advice with regard to getting around the area and my kids loved the guy, nothing was too much for him. We left our camera in a taxi and Aydin offered to go down and get it back for us.
My family are extremely keen to go back and we will be doing that in the summer of 2013!

Room Tip: The double rooms are spacious and quiet!

“A really nice hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

We arrived at around 4.00 am, and was shown straight to our room. It was a nice spacious apartment with a small balcony. We did ask for a double room, but got a twin. This wasn't a problem, as we just pushed the beds together. As I pulled the curtain across, it slid straight off the rail, and was too high for me to put back.
The next day, I mentioned this at the reception, and was told they would put it back. It was still neatly folded on the drawers where I left it, at the end of our holiday. It has got a television in the room (remote didn't work), but only two channels are in English, and reception is not great.
The rooms are cleaned every day, but we found out that once the first toilet roll is finished, you have to buy your own. I believe this is a 4 star hotel, and have stayed in much more basic hotels, that always leave plenty of toilet roll. Not that it's an issue, but we had to ask, to find that out.
The hotel is right in the mountains, which means it's nice and quiet, however, we did have to complain to reception about the noise from the pool bar late into the night, as, if you have a room with a pool view, you hear all the noise.
The air con was £40 a week, which I found a bit much, and as we went in mid Sept, it wasn't really needed, as it does cool down in the evening.
It's a long walk to the town, but there is the local transport (dolmus) which stops right outside the hotel, and costs only around 60p for a single journey. The beaches are nice, and you will be hassled to go a sit on a stretch of beach with an adjoining bar/cafe. We opted for this, as sunbeds are generally free, and drinks, food that you order are brought to your sunbed, if you so wish. We found the best beach cafe, round the corner from the main beach, called beach 34. They treat you so well, but without the constant hassling, and go out of thier way to remember your name, so that you'll go back there.
Reviews I read about this hotel mentioned lots of wasps, but I found Icmler in general had lots of wasps, but they seemed to be dying off when we were there. Didn't notice any mozzies, considering we were in the mountains.
Would deffo go back there, really nice resort, and Marmaris is only up the road if you fancy livening up the pace.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms that are not pool view, as we had one of these, and it can be noisy into the early hou...
