This hotel was recommended hence why we booked it.
When booking this hotel we searched the booking website (not this one) on a hotel which had accommodation for a couple with a 4 year old child. This came up as the recommended solution with 2 rooms which we assumed were next door to each other.
I eMailed the hotel to say we would arrive at about 23:00 as our flight did not land till 21:30 and to confirm this would not be a problem, which it should not have been as it stated on the website that it had 24 hour reception. I received no response. When we arrived at 23:10 we stood on the doorstep for 15 mins in the cold with a 4 year old, ringing the bell and phoning. Eventually someone came from the restaurant, apologised and did confirm they had received my eMail. The girl did kindly allow us to get a quick drink from the bar as our daughter was thirsty.
When we got to the apartment it was freezing and our daughters room was up 2 flights of marble stairs and she was scared to sleep up there as we'd either have to shut her in the room or risk leaving the door open and she could potentially slip down the stairs when she got up in the morning. So we had to carry a mattress down to our room for her to sleep on.
It was the most uncomfortable nights sleep I've ever had, the mattresses were so hard that to sleep on our slides hurt our arms and we both slept very little.
In the morning we went to breakfast where much of the food and drink had already gone so we had to wait for it to be replenished. Although I will not go into detail, the food did not appear to be as fresh as we would expect and I was unwell a couple of hours later.
We had booked to stay for 3 nights but the thought of spending 2 more nights there was so depressing that we complained at reception and then arranged to settle the bill and check out and stay somewhere else. To be honest we would probably have paid all 3 nights and paid again for another hotel.
