La Racona was lovely, peaceful, and the food and rooms were excellent. We had the garden more or less to ourselves through the evening and the owner was bringing us beers out. Very pretty and traditional.
We only stayed one night but it was a great night - we were in the old part, a building nice classy hotel, there were apartments around the pool also part of the same hotel but separate. Theres a little gate out onto the sea front from the hotel.
The nice thing about the hotel is that it was easy to get to (sort of). We flew into Alicante, got a taxi to the Tram station in the city then had a lovely journey up the coast to Denia for 13 euros). With one easy change on the tram it was a nice way to arrive in Denia (the lines terminus so no worries about missing the stop!). Finding a taxi to cover the last couple of kilometers to La Racona meant wandering down to the sea front but once got it was a simple journey.
I would go back to La Racona like a shot, its not the cheapest (we booked online as independent travelers) but as a way of easing you into holiday mode it was superb!
