“Dissapointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

The hotel should not be classed as a 4 star. I would only give it 3 at a push. The hotel description is not correct as on there our website they say they have two restaurants one of which is a la carte firstly this restaurant was never open at any time through the whole week we stayed, secondly the 2nd restaurant / buffet was more like a factory canteen, not 4 star, breakfast time was not an enjoyable experience an absolute free for all and very noisy. When we had a quick look around the hotel in July we noticed a disco bar, although it was shut as in the afternoon, this was also shut for the entire week we stayed. The staff in the pool side cafeteria just stayed in side behind the bar and never came around the pool to ask if you would like drinks, they did come to collect the money though.. I have stayed in 4 star hotels in various countries and it is the norm to be served by the pool especially at the hottest time of the year. I also think it is time for the hotel to buy some new sun beds as there are not enough sun beds for the amount of guests, and the sun beds they do have are in very bad order and very uncomfortable. The café / buffet staff were rather grumpy as well, the reception staff were more helpful. On a more positive note the rooms are very clean and a good size with A/C and a small fridge, on the bad side regarding the rooms the beds are very uncomfortable. The bathroom was a nice size I think it should have been a wet room but for some reason they have put a roll top bath over the shower area which was a bit unsafe to get in and out of. Over all the hotel is clean and tidy but very few amenities, close to the beach and only a 10 minute walk to the town. Not worth 100€ a night.

“Luxury rooms close to all the things you want!”

Location - only 100m from the beach, where there's golden sand and it's less crowded than other parts pf the beach. 5 minutes walk from lots of nice restaurants by the marina.

Service - very friendly and accommodating, will go out of their way to help you.

Facilities - lovely pool with nearby bar, good value breakfast buffet, spa available but I never used it, so cannot comment.

Room - double room with two single beds pushed together, small but nice balcony to enjoy pool view and view of Deniacastle. Spacious and light bathroom. Safe and mini-bar in room, with plenty of space for your own refreshments. Spacious area with sofa, tv and small table, separate from bedroom. Overall, plenty of space for two people. (We stayed in the junior suite)

Overall, an outstanding place to stay in the perfect location to explore Denia with fantasticaly friendly staff.

“Dissapointed!”

The cleanliness of hotel lived up to how it has been described, food was average, could have been better!
Bed's are extremely uncomfortable and made it very difficult to sleep, would not stay there again!

“Daniya Spa Hotel Denia Excellent for all ages - families couples and elderly”

This hotel is in a great location ( 2 minutes walk to the beach - easy walking distance to the main town and castle - shops and restaurants) - very safe area - very friendly helpful and knowledgable staff (nothing was too much trouble). Very clean everywhere - the reception and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful - rooms were spotless. We were on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast was fresh and adequate. We chose to dine out for lunch and dinner due to the amazing variety of restaurants here. We were not disapointed. Parking is free outside the hotel and is safe and easy as long as you are sensible but I believe for a small charge you can park in the hotel grounds. The room had kitchen units with full sized fridge - a dinning area but no equipment so we felt this was a bit strange. The house rules request guests not to bring in anything from outside. We used our common sense re this.
Denia itself is great if you enjoy - the beach - water sports - boats - fishing - history - good scenery - long walks and wonderful food - shops ( we were not there for night clubs but know there are a few there for those who prefer this). ( Would definately not recommend if you are looking for a Benidorm type of holiday). All ages - in Denia. I guess something to suit everyone. The restaurants are exceptional. I can't recommend a particular one as they are each as good as the other depending on your taste. The local fishing boats supply the restaurants so you can ask fort the catch of the day . Would recommend going for a stroll along the sea wall past the ocean club marina - then down the steps to the restaurants in the marina itself. Have dinner there and watch the sun go down. Wonderful. The majority of people holidaying here are Spanish and you will find they tend to get up and have breakfast around 9.30 - then off to the beach - they leave around 1.30 for lunch and siesta - they arrive out on mass around 9.30 at night to promonade the go for dinner. So it is worthwhile arriving around 8.30 9 for dinner before the restaurants fill up. If you hire a car you have access via the motorway to town hop - you will be suprised at how different each place is as some are more touristy than others - if you get a chance head into the hills - the views are incredible. Will definately return to Denia.

“Very good value...”

Stayed overnight at the Daniya in February, a quiet month. It's in a nice quiet location but it's probably quite busy in the summer months. It's very convenient for the beach which is minutes walk away and the restaurants in the locality looked good, although we could only sample one on our short stay. We made the most of our night's stay by booking some spa treatments. The staff were very knowledgeable and there are a lot of treatments available. The room on the ground floor was spacious and I could open the French doors and sit by the pool. Excellent power shower and very clean.
