A haven of tranquility and warm hospitality, this family-run hotel really is an oasis in the heart of the rugged Castilian landscape. This converted water-mill in the tranquil village of Alcuneza (just outside the medieval town of Siguenza) is the perfect location for a get-away-from-it-all holiday or weekend. Run with great charm and attention to detail by Blanca and Juan Moreno, this hotel makes you feel at home and totally pampered.
The modern block of rooms is better if you prefer a balcony and view of the swimming pool and gardens. The older main building has perhaps more charm and beams.
Breakfasts are excellent and cater for all tastes - including a classic eggs and bacon with ketchup, if you ask for them. Dinner is also a must - Samuel really is an excellent chef and I personally rate amongst the best in the region.
A great place to unwind and spend time with your loved one(s) - chilling by the pool, listening to the stream trickling through the gardens, or watching the swallows dive down to drink from the water. Lovely!
