The first few days at this Embassy Suites property were quite pleasurable. The staff and management were kind and courteous and I was impressed with managers assembling to greet many business travelers like myself on our way to "work" each and every day following breakfast. It was on the week-end that the wheels fell off the bus; a group of several hundred pimply-faced teenagers took the hotel hostage, while their adult chaperones sat in the bar drinking beer. It was a "vacation" for the chaperones, some from Chicago. As they slowly sipped their Sweetwater Beer, the teenagers ran amuck. They took over the pool, the dining area, and the many halls of this hotel complex which looks over and interior atrium. Any noise is amplifed, which agreed very nicely with these drama students. Now I was once a drama student; but I was polite and respected my elders. These hooligans, who partied till late evening outside other people's hotel rooms ( mine and my business associates on the same floor with young babies) ignored calls for quite. The chaperons were either still drinking in the bar or fast asleep on their all-expense paid holiday. For the following two days I incurred considerable food expences because I could not eat breakfast at the hotel ( this was included in my package). I had to lower myself and eat unhealthy fast food on the way to my business meetings. In the evenings I could not use the pool or other facilities because the teenage terrorists ( " Drama students competing in a competition-- yea, right!@) ignored calls for decorum while the hotel did nothing.
First of all I feel customers making reservations should have been apprised of the final assault of the Civil War in the South-- For these hormone-racing "kids", it was an away-from-the-parents, Club Med holiday Unfortunately it was these theatrics that will cost this hotel, which made no effort to a) hire additional security b) properly vet the " chaperons" and read the riot act when they arrived c) prepare two food service areas for 1) Guests 2) another for the assault of students. d) prepare a schedule for the pool and gym 1) a free swim for the students 2) hours for guests. I'm sorry, but it is patently obvious that there was absolutel no over-sight.The hotel staff on duty, as well as one night security officer dropped the ball.
Apologies:
The Director of Sales & Marketing, Mr. Dale Gustafson, apologized to myself and my fellow business travelers profusely. He had been away on the week-end when hell broke loose. There was also a Time-Share/Property management firm who had invited " guests" to the hotel to sell time share contracts in a calm & pleasant environment. They were not happy Time-Sharers. Mr. Gustafson stated he was mortified when he heard what had happened. He admitted to us that some hotel staff members had not used proper judgement in preparing for the attack. There was also the nagging question of the chaperons. They are still missing in action. Perhaps somewhere near the bar lounge? In the end Dale Gustafson kindly offered us an afternoon at the Atlanta Aquarium & Dolphin Show; It was peaceful there. The hotel went out of its way to apologize & invited us to return at a substantial discount. This was much appreciated, and I believe Dale Gustafson was sincerely upset. I have learned one thing from this episode; Dolphins are more intelligent and have better training than teenage " Theatre Students ".
Room Tip: check to make sure there are no Theater Students staying at your hotel

Dear Jospitfire,
Thank you very much for taking the time after we met to write a very fair and thorough review about your stay with us. It was definitely a learning experience and we'll certainly do a better job at "vetting out" our youth groups before they stay. We will also be sure to enforce rules of conduct and hold chaperones accountable for keeping the kids in order. I'm glad we were able to help provide a nice experience for you and your colleagues at the end of your stay, and we hope you will give us another try the next time you visit Atlanta,
Warm Thanks & Regards,
Dale Gustafson
