“Fabulous, relaxing mountain hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I first went to Molino some 20 years ago and returned during 2011 to find that not much had changed from my memories. This is a good thing. The food is fabulous, if a touch confusing with several menus, and the staff are hospitable. The mill stream is a godsend in the hot summer months and the (now heated) pool is wonderful. Love it, and will definitely go again.

“a little piece of heaven on earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We stayed at Molino del Santo in September 2011( its taken a while for me to find time to write this review) and everything about it was perfect. The food , the setting, the staff were all fantastic. We did some lovely walks in the area, and of course spent time in Ronda.
I could not fault this place.
One of our party was ill whilst we were there, and the hotel could not have been more helpful. The owner's daughter came with us to the clinic, and then on to the hospital to translate for us. We would have been in great difficulty without her help.

“Really lovely hotel”

I can only agree with all the previous positive reviews on the delightful Molino del Santo. My friend and I have just spent two nights there and were extremely happy with our standard twin room and the homely feel of the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts, what a choice of delicious breads and jams apart from the hot dishes, fruit and cereals etc. The grounds are lovely to wander round and the constant sound of the running stream is very relaxing. The hotel is positioned in a beautiful area and the scenic drive to Zahara de la Sierra (loved it there) and then on to Grazalema was memorable and made for some great photos. We certainly hope to return one day to this "little gem".

Room Tip: Can only say that we had no complaints with our room (number 5) which was in the main building.

“Fantastic stay!”

My three kids and I spent a wonderful few days at Molino de Santo. This was our second stay, the first being three years ago and I really dont know why we left it so long before returning! If you are looking for a country type of hotel, slightly off the beaten track this is definitely the place to stay.

The rooms are clean and spacious and nicely furnished and as far as amenities go there was not much more we could’ve asked for. The staff are always happy to help with anything. The meals were delicious and there was a good choice of meals and wines on the menu. The kids menu was perfect and portions were just the right size. For breakfast there was a good selection of home made breads, pastries, cereals, yoghurts and fruits and two hot options.

The hotel is really great for kids and despite being worried that there was not going to be enough for them to do without the option of swimming they thoroughly enjoyed their stay! There are no televisions but they were happy to just play games and enjoy the nice warm fireplace in the evenings. The atmosphere created by the owners and staff definitely made them feel at home!

We spent one of the days exploring Ronda which has several museums to enjoy such as the Bandits and Hunting Museums. The kids enjoy the bullring and there are loads of fountains, good restaurants and ice cream shops.

We went donkey riding in nearby Montejaque, about a 10 minute drive away which the kids loved! The owners don't speak much English but were so friendly and the donkeys so cute that it didn't really matter!

You can also drive to any of the lovely white villages nearby and enjoy the narrow alleyways and a great tapas lunch on one of the squares. Grazalema which we visited is about 30 minutes drive away along a road with absolutely stunning scenery.

The area around Molino is great for walks along the river or for trail running. There are loads of activities on offer at the reception and the staff are very happy to provide information and maps. We didn't get to the nearby caves or to the horse riding but are hoping to return!

“Lovely short stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

This is a hotel that delivers what it has promised, friendly personal service, wonderful food and convenient location for a visit to Ronda without staying in the centre of the town. The tasting menu was very good, definitely worth another visit.
