“A lovely inn in a lovely town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

Ardmore Inn is a lovely old house in an excellent position in a beautiful town. We were disappointed with our room (Tarma) but the very comfortable bed made up for that. Charlotte is the most wonderful hostess - so welcoming and unbelievably helpful. She knows more than any guide book and her restaurant recommendations are great. And her breakfasts are amazing! Not only fabulous food but the table beautifully decorated every day. There are lots of interesting things to do around Woodstock - we especially enjoyed our tour of the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller mansion.

“Excellent- can't recommend highly enough”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

We stayed for 2 nights as a base to explore south Vermont. The Ardmore Inn was really well situated close to the lovely high street full of great shops and restaurants of Woodstock. Charlotte is an excellent host providing information and ideas on foliage drives and things to do, and places to eat. Nothing was too much trouble.

The interior of the Inn is beautifully decorated, filled with comfortable furniture and arty pictures and books which are great for browsing by the fire. Breakfasts were the best we had during our tour around this part of the US, with fresh fruit, freshly baked scones, omlettes or waffles etc and endless tea or coffee. Room was tastefully decorated and relaxed decor, lovely and clean and we felt instantly at home. I really felt it was excellent value for money, and I really hope we get to go back and stay again as it was fantastic!

“Wonderful B&B with Great Attention to Detail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

Very enjoyable experience. Charlotte was outstanding in providing excellent three course breakfasts and attending to your every detail, iincluding good recommentations on restaurants and activities. The B&B had a lovely ambience, with separate sitting room/library and enclosed porch with tables (useful for computers) and rocking chairs. The location was very good with a block or two walk to shops and restaurants.
As mentioned in other reviews, traffic noise is noticable (at least in front rooms) but not extreme (at least when I was there) - speed limit is 25 mph and Route 4 traffic was not extremely heavy. As I always sleep with earplugs, the noise was no problem at all. Traffic noise is a factor in virtually all B&Bs along the main road, and I have experienced worse noise in other places.
The rates seem reasonable for the area, and likely provide one of the best values in Woodstock. All in all, we were very happy with the choice we made.

“Vermont Beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

We found the hospitality at the Ardmore Inn to be exceptional! The home was so warm and inviting. Upon arrival, Charolette, the owner surprised us with a birthday cake and champaigne to celebrate my birthday and our 35th anniversary. It was such a treat! Our room and bath were lovely. The breakfast was delicious! We enjoyed the company of several others from around the US. We actually met a couple from our homestate and exchanged contact information. It was nice to make new friends. We found the town of Woodstock to be quaint. It was a wonderful place for a stroll. A visit to Sugarbush Farm is a must. To cap off our time in Woodstock, we enjoyed a lovely dinner at Simon Pearce Restaurant. The only drawback to the whole experience was the street noise at night. There were earplugs available in each room, if you can stand to wear them. Much appreciation goes to Charolette for a lovely time.
