We enjoyed our time @ Hotel Paradise very much. Matteo goes out of his way to make visitors feel welcome and comfortable. Quaint location where you can get a feel for Tuscany without being overrun by traffic or lots of tourists. Situated between Siena and Florence, Hotel Paradise is appropriately named. We look forward to our next visit!

I have stayed at Hotel Paradise in Mercatale 4 times since 1997. I always stay there when in Tuscany. It is quiet and sweet and so close to Florence and Sienna. It is much quieter, cleaner, and more economical than staying in the city! The drive to either city is a pleasure that would be missed by staying within the city. It is a wonderful way to start or end any day in either Florence or Sienna...driving through such breathtaking beauty.
It feels like I am visiting friends rather than the feeling of being displaced or detatched like a tourist. The feel, size, decor, and location of the hotel make it seem like a home. Matteo and his family's warmth only add to the comfort and ease of the stay. Their hospitality is genuine...a rarity at any hotel!!!
They have also accommodated my Labrador, and treated him like a welcome guest :)
I can't wait until my next visit!!!

A friend and I stayed at Hotel Paradise for a week in October and wished we had booked for longer. Matteo and Francesca are perfect hosts - friendly, helpful and extremely generous. The hotel is very comfortable and clean. Our bedroom had an excellent view across the valley. It is excellent value for money.

Mercatale is the perfect location from which to explore the Tuscan countryside and it has the added attraction of being an enjoyable 40 minute bus ride to the centre of Firenze.

Each morning we walked across the Mercatale town square to have a morning coffee with the locals and then caught the comfortable bus down through the hills to Florence. We enjoyed the visual and cultural beauty of the city during the day and then made the short trip back to our village to enjoy the sunset from our Hotel Paradise balcony. The added enjoyment was sipping the delicious local Chianti wine.

Matteo and Francesca are excellent guides and went out of their way to ensure we made the most of our time in the Chianti region. They enjoyed talking about the local history and culture. They made sure that we were able to visit the best local village markets and hilltop vantage points.

Staying at Hotel Paradise is the perfect way to ensure that you experience the best of both worlds on a Tuscan holiday.

We have to share with you our fantastic experience with the Paradise hotel and it's amazing owner Matteo...

We were planning to be married in Montefiridolfi, (a small village in the Chianti wine region) and so we planned a trip to the region, to view the church, meet the priest and visit the venue where our reception was to be held.

Since there was no B & B or hotel in the village itself, we decided to stay in 'The Paradise Hotel' situated in a beautiful local town nearby called Mercatle. We arrived at the hotel in the evening and received a very warm welcome from the hotel owner Matteo. We had an amazing room for the money - a massive bed and all the comforts you could wish for - believe me, this standard of room, for this amount is very rare!

We then enquired with Matteo about hiring a driver for the next days trip (involving many miles) and he informed us that taxis are very hard to find in the area! He then promptly went out of his way to spend a good half an hour on the telephone trying to find us drivers and alternate modes of transport - fantastic.

Unfortunately he could not secure a taxi/driver for us and we were very stuck! However Matteo then offered to do the driving for us for the whole next day!!! (for a very reasonable fee). We went about our various stops around Chianti and Matteo even dropped us off at the airport. What could have been a disaster turned out to be a breeze, thanks to him - what an absolute star this guy was. We were genuinely touched as to what great length he went out of his way for us.

We would like to thank Matteo once again for all his help and we would reccomend this hotel in an instant to anybody wishing to stay in the heart of Tuscany. Amazing.
