This hotel has a "package holiday" feel to it.

Nice grounds but disappointing rooms and lobby/restaurant area.

Unfriendly staff.

Also a long drive from the coast.

This hotel is ideal for peace and relaxation whilst having easy access by hotel minibus to the beach. With a car the whole of the northern half of Sardinia is in easy reach and roads are generally quiet, although the journey through Olbia at the end of the Italian holiday was a nightmare, but that is once per year!

Rooms were comfortably furnished and we had a super sea view balcony ideal for evening aperitif or just sunning.

The grounds and pool are quiet.

Breakfasts were adequate although the "topping up" of the breakfast buffet was a little slow. Dinner selections were always good and the special Sardinian evening really good value.

Staff were helpful and pleasant and the barman at the pool became such a good friend that we were even teated to a farewell drink.

The hotel may be noisier mid summer but was just ideal for an Autumn break.

We stayed 4 years ago and had a good experience.The staff, room and particularly the restaurant were excellent. In fact people came to eat and celebrate from local areas because the food was very good.
We booked again half-board for 4 nights expecting the same standards not knowing that the hotel had changed direction.
The room was dull and cheaply furnished with the kitchen air extraction's smell and noise directly on our terrace. The restaurant staff were very unpolite, agressive and unproffessional, apart from the day the director was eating in ear shot!!! The breakfast was disappointing, not fresh pastries and all beverages from machines. The quality of the dinner menu was very low and totally different from our previous experience. We had the impression that the food was mostly frozen or pre-packed with a standard cantine taste. This is not representative at all of Sardinian cuisine and hospitality.
The moral is : Before you return to a place were you had a good experience be sure it has not changed direction and philosophy.

stayd at rocce sarde in july 2007 as a family of 4 with 2 boys aged 6&4 staying in a 2 bed apartment in their residence. The apartments (10 in total) are very clean and spacious and nicley furnished with a beautiful view of the coast, garden and smallish swimming pool. it is located 1 mile away from the hotel so you need a car to go to the hotel for the meals and facilities. The hotel is well maintained, swimming pool and garden are extremely pleasant areas and often fairly quiet even in high season. The food was good, delicious & plentiful breakfast and huge 4 course dinners every night. (our kids did not eat the dinners but suppose that was to be expected!)
A good choice away from the crowds, but very close to attractions of the costa smeralda.
