“It's cheap for Boston & that's what you get--low quality”

There's a reason this is cheap for Boston. It's a low class hotel. Musty smelling room with carpeting with ridges in it (not smooth carpet). I wore socks so my bare feet didn't have to touch the floor. No AC on a fall weekend where the temp broke heat records. Why? Management turned off AC and the kid on duty didn't know how, or didn't want, to turn it on. He advised me to leave my window open. Right--single woman in ground-floor room overlooking abandoned nightclub. Sounds safe. The hotel parking lot had many many Quebec plates and lots of foreigners--nothing wrong with that, but I suspect this is listed in some bargain book. It's a decent location, close to the T. I'd say go further out of town to find a bargain hotel if you have a car. I heard them send people to eat the bowling alley next door. A shame to eat there unless you have no car and are stuck. Buyer beware. This is a run-down joint that has no effort, care or concern associated with it. I have to say this--every guest (that could speak English) that I ran into was nice and helpful and it felt like a safe experience. No, I didn't leave my window open when I wasn't awake.

Room Tip: The ground floor windows have flimsy locks. One side overlooks a bowling alley, the other side over...

“Ouch, ouch ouch!”

Just experienced bedbugs. Bitten over the arms and neck during my weekend stay. This has to be the worst experience ever. No warning, and now hives appearance, severe itching, swelling, and redness over the bitten areas. Just ghastly, disfiguring, embarassing, and unforgivable.

“simple; no frills, but clean and affordable!”

the staff was very helpful when we didn't have a GPS - and can't seem to find a map in the whole Boston area, we called, they confirmed that they had room, gave us directions, and when we got turned around with the directions, I called again, and the front desk woman got us there, while still being patient with my lack of knowledge of the area..... lol.
Checked in, with Roomsaver reduced price, which was very nice! We asked where we could go for sometime to eat at 8pm - and conveniently there is a bowling alley next door that had very good food. We went on her suggestion and we were quite pleased!
The room was clean, good sized, large mini fridge and microwave in the room, clean bathroom, very hot water - all in all we knew it was not the Hilton, but it was perfect for us. I was looking for a place to sleep and shower, and this was clean and comfortable.
They serve a nice continential breakfast, with more items than I would have expected!
A free shuttle is offered to the train station, and the other front desk staff that we encountered were nice and definately helpful!
I would definately stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: I picked up the "RoomSaver" guide and found them with a great rate for walk-in.

“Beware of bedbugs - management has done nothing to address the problem”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2011

I stayed in this hotel May 2011, room 207 to attend a graduation. The next day, I realized I had bed bug bites all over my arms and legs, confirmed this with a doctor. Contacted hotel by phone and fax, almost a month after the fact, I still have not heard back from them. Very dissapointed.

“This place is just fine”

I found this hotel on the Harvard website. I booked it back in November because it was much cheaper by far, than any other place in the area for graduation week, and I wanted to be sure to get a room. A few days before I was scheduled to stay, I looked on line and discovered that the reviews were horrible. I then tried to book a different hotel, but by then there was nothing available, so I had no choice but to stay there. I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. The hotel, while very basic, was clean and totally adequate . The room was comfortable, and the staff was very pleasant. All we were looking for was a clean and comfortable place to sleep for three nights, and that it what we found. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
