I loved the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge! My friend and I booked two nights there in a standard room. We were upgraded to a water view. The concierge was super helpful and gave us free shuttle transfers if we let him know our schedule in advance. He recommended great restaurants and bars in the City. The rooms were gorgeous! The view of the water was incredible! Really enjoyed their dinner place, Dante. They had a great happy hour with $1 oysters. DEFINITELY recommend!

I know this is supposed to be a great hotel, but I have to disagree.

First, my room smelled like-stale musty smoke, despite it being a smoke free hotel. Second, even with every light on, the room was dark. Third, I did not care for the decor. Finally, I was using the facilities when I realized there was a dirty Q-tip on the floor near the shower. That makes me think the room may not have been cleaned since the last guest.

I will say I had breakfast in the hotel and my pancakes were delicious. Parking is free, it is right across from the Cambridgeside Galleria mall. Next time I will probably stay at the nearby Mariott.

Stayed on the Room and Vroom package which included free parking (and parking is very expensive!). Well located for easy access to Boston (by car or public transportation) and Cambridge historical areas. Pleasant staff at entrance, front desk and concierge. Room was small but fresh looking, clean and pleasant. Bars and restaurants not particularly inviting, so cannot comment.

We recently stayed at the Royal Sonesta with our 2 and 4 year old children. The hotel is conveniently located across from the Galleria mall and around the corner from the Boston Museum of Science. River views were great from our room and the hotel. The hotel staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and clean. The only small issue we encountered was difficutly connecting to the complimentary WiFi the first night but were able to resolve this the next morning. We highly recommend this hotel.
