“Great place to stay in Cambridge!”

My family and I stayed at Carolyn's Bed and Breakfast for just over a week this past summer, and we were really pleased with the location, cleanliness, quality of the accommodation, and best of all there was air conditioning! There are two bedrooms on the second floor (one room had a queen or double bed, and the other had two single beds). The bathrooms and bedrooms were nicely done up, and felt very warm and comfortable - like staying at a friend's home. Carolyn prepared simple, but very tasty breakfasts every morning - tea and coffee and fresh warm bread with fruit, yogurt and granola, and eggs when we requested them. She was very knowledgeable about the area and had a lot of great recommendations - especially for those interested in Boston's art scene.

In terms of location, this house isn't right in the center of Cambridge, but it is very close to a frequent and late-running bus route that took about 6 minutes to reach Harvard station. The home is also less than a five minute walk away from Mt. Auburn Cemetery, which is incredibly scenic and well-landscaped (a must visit attraction if you enjoy gardens and great views of Boston).

Next time I'm in Boston or the Cambridge area I will definitely be staying at Carolyn's again. If you're looking for a 5-star hotel with 24-hour service, this is not the place for you. But if you want to stay somewhere comfortable that feels like home, then I highly recommend Carolyn's - she made us all feel very welcomed in her home.

Room Tip: The room with a double/queen bed has a skylight and it's own en-suite bathroom, while the other...

“Wonderful B&B with a great owner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

I have had the great opportunity to stay at this Cambridge/Boston B&B over the past few years. The B&B has two very tastefully decorated second floor bedrooms. It also has free off street parking. If you like smaller more personable B&B then you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: There are only two room and I have stayed in both. One bedroom has two twins, the other I believe is...

“A nice place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2010

Carolyn is a lovely lady, making breakfast whilst having a chat. This B&B is one of the those that feels like you're staying over at someone's home, more than renting a room in a B&B.
It's neat clean and comfortable, suited to simply sleeping, having a light breakfast and touring Boston.
The bus is a few minutes walk away. Street parking.

“A great value for being in Cambridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2010

I was in Cambridge to visit a couple of schools and had trouble finding anything under $200/night. I came across the website for Carolyn's B&B and was quoted a rate that was well within my budget. The room was spacious with an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was great, including the homemade granola and fresh baked bread mentioned by another reviewer. One of the best parts was the location. I was able to take a quick bus ride into Cambridge-Harvard Square (10 minutes) and could change busses or get on the train to go anywhere in the city. There was also a supermarket nearby to pick up supplies and purchase a Charlie Card for the public transit system. If I have the occasion to return to Cambridge I will definitely stay here again.

“wonderful quiet stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2010

Had a lovely stay at this bed and breakfast with my partner for a family reunion- we stayed the week end. The amenities were impeccable, spacious bedroom, private and clean bathroom. The house is decorated with eclectic and wonderful taste of mid-century pieces and country antiques. We were greeted for breakfast with a lovely, heathy breakfast of homemade granola and fresh fruit. The neighborhood is very quiet, safe and residential- it was an ideal location as my partner's family resided in Arlington but we also wanted to be able to explore central Boston so we were right in between the two.

Would absolutely return, had a great time.
