“Home away from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

Stayed at Prospect place beginning of November to visit my son in college. I traveled alone so it was a breath of fresh air to arrive to a warm and welcoming home. Eric, the owner and innkeeper, was waiting for my arrival, he had tons of literature available on Cambridge and wonderful restaurant recommendations on hand. The location is fabulous and there's a Whole Foods market right across the street. The following morning he had a scrumptious breakfast awaiting of eggs, homemade granola, fresh fruits...amazing! The dining area is very bright and pleasant - contrary to what I read from another review. The bedrooms were nicely done and the beds were very comfortable. I cant say enough good things about this BB --- Only someone expecting a hotel instead of a cozy home experience can complain. If you want to feel like you're visiting old friends - this is the place for you! Cant wait to go back!!

Room Tip: I stayed in the florence suite facing the streeet and had to trouble with noise. but I was able to s...

“Fantastic B&B - Wouldn't stay anywhere else!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011 via mobile

Stayed at Prospect Place in October as part of our anniversary vacation. Location is great and just a short walk from Boston's Red Line Central Station. Rooms were comfortable, hospality was great, and the breakfast was perfect. A great location to explore Boston, Harvard, and beyond. If we can book a room at Prospect, we won't stay anywhere else!

“Excellent, friendly service in a nice, quiet location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

The innkeeper is so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nice and the rooms were delightful! There's a Whole Foods right across the street and the metro is only a few blocks away. Close to good restaurants and easy metro access to Boston. Definitely recommend this b&b!

“Cambridge Reunion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

I met a good friend from college here for a brief reunion and long trek around Cambridge. We stayed in the Charles Suite. It is a wonderful 2-room space created in the basement. But don't let the word basement deter you. I slept on the most comfortable pull-out double bed I have ever experienced. And my friend luxuriated in the king-size bed. We both agreed that our private bathroom was wonderful. She came out of the shower proclaiming "The shower is God!" Our host was gracious and helpful. The food delicious. My only concern is recommending this place because I don't want to learn that I can't get another reservation the next time I try to visit. And I will!

“Same days as Chris W..whole different view”

Well Chris, this place gets a lot of very positive reviews here because it is an EXCELLENT place to stay. I met you at breakfast and can see how you could write such a misleading and somewhat evil review. It is truly unfortunate that persons like you can go through life leaving a trail of misinformation that truly hurts others..but enough about you as the gracious host deserves my comments far more than you.
I stayed for two weeks..had a lovely room..clean sheets as expected and clean bathrooms ..fresh towels daily..hot water..could not have been happier. I have traveled extensively and always stay with families in their homes..sometimes the home is older and I love the atmosphere..the oddly placed windows of yesterday's homes..the odd sounds of an aging house at night..a creak in the floor..rain on the roof...that to me is experiencing someone else's daily life..it is what travel is all about.
So if you are looking for a wonderful friendly perfectly furnished old Victorian style Bed and Breakfast this is for you. I found it's atmosphere in the dining room warm and peaceful with soothing music playing allowing me to have an opportunity to organize my thoughts and plans for the day. the smell of fresh coffee fills the room..fresh organic fruit in abundance..home made granola..delicious waffles cooked in the adjoining kitchen..or French toast..or eggs cooked to order..Chris, my dear..perhaps you brought the depression and the gloom to the breakfast room..and if one is an adult one can request the food of choice. I always was offered choices and of course did not sit there in a state of disfunction waiting to be entertained by the host.
I would like to offer the reader a truly HONEST account of my experience and would hope that the experienced traveler will understand that some people need to stay in a large new hotel complete with new windows, plumbing..big brightly lit commercial dining areas and a staff that is paid to sing and dance for you often without sincerity. But if you want to share another persons home..someone in this case who has worked very diligently to provide you with all the comforts of his home and who really truly cares in his heart that you are happy with what he is offering you then this is the place for you.I loved it!!!

Room Tip: Any one of the rooms is good. Each done in period furniture..tastefully with your comfort in mind. S...
