“Be warned- Binasco is 15km away from central Milan!”

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a short break at this hotel booked through a popular last minute deal company. The most important thing to note before booking your stay is that the hotel takes about an hour to reach from central Milan as it is 15km away in Binasco. We flew into Bergamo airport, which itself is about an hour away from central Milan, and then faced an additional hours travel to reach the hotel.

It was suggested that a taxi would be around 40 euros, but we managed to navigate our way there using the metro and bus service for much less than this, taking the metro to Famigosta and then completing the rest of the journey by the bus, which leaves Famigosta bus station. The bus to Pavia calls at Binasco and drops you a short walk from the hotel. Tickets for the bus can't actually be purchased on the bus, something that only became clear to us after waiting half an hour for it, but they are easily avaliable from a kiosk at Famigosta station. We suggest buying a supply of these tickets, since the kiosk wasn't staffed when we came to get the last bus.

The hotel itself was o.k, it was clean and the room was adequate for our needs with all the usual basics. The air conditioning in the room didn't seem to work too well however, it removed all the moisture from the air but kept the heat!

The breakfast was also o.k, nothing too fancy but a varied selection was served and there was an additional option to have it delivered to the room.

Binasco, where the hotel is situated, is a quiet local community. During our stay the hotel restaurant did not open, so we had to either eat earlier in Milan (bearing in mind that the last bus leaves Famigosta at 9) or try and get food in Binasco. We explored and found another restaurant (sadly also closed), but there is a McDonalds on the way into Binasco along with some very good pizza and ice cream in Binasco itself.

We had a fabulous time in Milan itself, but found that Binasco was a little too quiet and a little too far from the heart of Milan.
