This property was remodeled last year, so it is has an upscale look to the decor. Too bad the staff doesn't keep it clean. If you aren't picky about cleanlieness then the newer remodeling can fool you into thinking this is a nice place.
Our toilet seat was filthy underneath and we had a huge stain on our blanket cover. I asked for another blanket and someone just dropped off a duvet cover and told me to replace it myself. There were hairs in our sink too.
The hallways have a very bold design to them which masks the dirt, but if you look closely you'll see that they are rarely vacuumed and there are chunks of dirt everywhere.
The remodeling apparently wasn't a total remodel job because some of the bathroom fixtures were dirty and old and cheap.
We went down for the breakfast and encountered a crowd of people waiting for more food to be prepared. Many just left and went elsewhere. There wasn't anywhere near enough seating for the number of rooms they have here.
One poor lady accidently spilled some coffee on the countertop and it spilled over onto the floor. She couldn't find anyone to clean it up so she did the best she could with some napkins. The manager came out a few minutes later and saw the floor and in a very louad obvious fashion stated, "I can't believe that someone spilled coffee all over!" She was very disgusted and wanted to make sure that all the guests heard her. This lady does not belong in the hospitality business.
Another lady who was suppose to be working the breakfast area was as slow as a snail. The majority of the food items were out of stock (including bread, bagels, eggs, potatoes) by the time we got down there and the pancake batter dispenser barely worked. It was obvious that they hadn't cleaned the nozzle in a long time. A number of employees were standing outside to smoke their cigarettes while the breakfast area was a complete mess.
I bought a can of Coke from the vending machine and it came out with grease all over the can and dried Coke all over the top, apparently from another leaking can. Just what I expected in this place.
There are signs in the parking lot warning criminals to stay out. This is on the north side of the business area downtown and surrounded by a somewhat seedy area. Be sure to remove valuables from your car.
We left the next morning and I stood behind some guests who needed driving directions. The same manager was rude to these guests when they asked if she could write the directions down on paper.
This hotel is staffed with employees who don't give a darn about their guests and shouldn't be working here.
Unfortunately, with Springfield being a tourist town, a number of the other hotels are pretty much trashed out too, so there's not a lot to choose from in this area. Nice building, awful staff
