“Acceptable & budget friendly + there was no where else!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

OK everyone, let's just remember that this is a MOTEL. With that in mind, and with a few advance preparations, this was an acceptable stay. We were in town for the CWS weekend but not for that- for a wedding. Every place in Omaha was booked!
The location was convenient (right off I-80 & not too far from the downtown area). There was a McDonald's & Farm House breakfast place that was pretty nice practically right next door. (Average breakfast food in a clean/quaint setting with good service). The interior of the motel could really use some help - water-stained ceilings, a fairly large ugly patch of mold growing in the hallway on the first floor. Our first room the sheets were clean & bug free as well as the bathroom. However, there was a funny smell (I thought comparable to the fumes at a cheap nail salon, my husband thought maybe a Freon leak in the A/C). Also the safety bolt was missing & looked like it had been busted clear off of the door and the shower did not work. They actually called us before we called them & upgraded our room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our new "suite" upstairs had some interesting features (a hole in the wall, a big slice in the living area couch's arm, dried nail polish stains all over the sink counter) however, it did have a clean functional bathroom & clean bed. The shower was actually pretty nice as far as motels go, they had one of those spa curtain rods that bow out so you have a little more room & the shower head gave off hot water with pretty decent water pressure. We got the idea to bring our own clean sheets because of some other reviews, and ended up inserting them between the hotel sheets anyway because our sheets were much softer & more comfy even though the hotel ones were clean. I also brought a soft hand towel for face-washing and plush tissues which added to the comfort of our stay & didn't take much room to pack. We both slept surprisingly very well both nights; the mattress was firm but good for back sleepers. All in all, this would not be our first choice for a place to stay again, but it was budget friendly and in a pinch we might stay again if we had to be in the area & there was nothing else. We would definitely bring our own sheets again, just for the softness and fresh scent of home. :)

“Econo-Rude and don't care”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2008

Well this was the WORST hotel (and I use the word Hotel loosely) stay I have ever had. The front desk clerk was rude, the rooms were dirty, disorganized, lacking bedding, mostly missing light bulbs. The list is long so I'll cut to the chase. I will NEVER EVER stay at an EconoLodge again. All rooms had missing light bulbs, 1 room the air conditioner/heater had pieces of it laying all over the floor, the second room it was unplugged and the plug was so bent up it could not be plugged in, the final room was missing the blanket and comforter on the bed and the front of the sink/vanity was just raw wood. The gal at the front desk was rude, I had a 4 night reservation and had to have the key to my room reactivated twice. They advertise a "Continental Breakfast", which consisted of tupperware containers of cereal (probably the local grocery store brand) a loaf of bread alongside a toaster with a couple half empty bottles of jam/jelly and coffee pots nearly empty with powdered creamer packets that looked like they had been left over from the korean war. I spoke to the corporate offices and they apologized, thank you corporate. I did not ask for a refund, all I asked for was an apology from the owner/manager/franchisee and never got it.

  • Liked — Convenient Location - just off the interstate.

“Horrible Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2007

I would advise everyone to stay away from this hotel! We were unable to book our usual hotels on our last trip to Omaha because the College World Series was going on and hotels were pretty well booked up. We figured that with the Econolodge name brand we could expect a decent hotel room that was clean. We were wrong on all counts. When we first walked in we see the check in counter behind a plexiglass window. After checking in, we start walking to our room. The carpet in the hallway was littered with trash and all of the fire extinguisher bays expect one were empty and contained no fire extinguisher. There were holes punched in the walls throughout the hallway. When we get to our room it continued. The mattresses are at least twenty years old and were as hard as sleeping on the floor with a sleeping bag. We found multiple hairs on our sheets and there were burn holes all over the comforters. We even found toenails on the floor next to the bed! I would definitely stay as far away as possible from this hotel!!!

“Nice Motel For Low Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2005

people found this review helpful

We stayed at this location for a one-night stop-over on a long cross country trip in July, 2005. Although it was a little out of our way for a trip heading north on I-29, it was well worth the few extra miles.

The motel was nice, clean, and the staff was friendly. We really had no complaints about this place at all. There are not too many restaurants in the area, so food choices were limited, but overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Room was clean, well maintained, and had enough towels for our use without having to beg for more. We got a non-smoking room and it didn't appear to have a smoking smell.

Room price was reasonable for summer rates adding to about $58 after taxes.

I would recommend this motel, based on our stay.

Thanks!!
