“A very pleasant stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Thoroughly enjoyed my 3-day stay in a wonderfully furnished one bedroom suite. Hotel features a spacious area for a breakfast buffet that offers a good variety. The property has ample parking and the location is a short walk from the stadium hosting the college world series. The only two negatives are that one, the location is not walking distance from the Old Market area (hotel does offer shuttle service) and two, the elevators broadcast an annoyingly loud "beep" at every floor.

“Nice hotel in Omaha, Nebraska”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We recently spent one night at the Fairfield in Omaha on our trip to South Dakota. The hotel was close to the airport and not far from the downtown area. The staff at the reception desk were very helpful and offered us the use of the shuttle for going to dinner. The shuttle driver, Joe, went out of his way to show us the old area of town and some of the sights. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it. The rooms were very pleasant. We did not hear any trains although the track was behind our room. The neighborhood seems to be an area in transition but this was not a problem.

“Blah ... Not Bad ... Not Good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Fortunately I arrived in the middle of the night and was, therefore, unable to "see" the actual hotel until I went inside. That was discouraging enough. By now I have too many points to just give up on Marriott, though whenever I stay at a place like this I wonder why I didn't go with Hilton instead (Okay ... I know why I didn't go with Hilton ... it has everything to do with the wayward heir).

This place was alright. I needed a bed close to the airport and they delivered. That's about it. Nothing memorable (good or bad). Nothing outstanding (good or bad). Just a bed in a room needing to be updated in a hotel close to the airport.

I won't go back. There was no reason to do so.

Room Tip: Try the Holiday Inn Express next door.

“Very nice stay in Omaha”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

As other reviewers have noted, this property is very close to many attractions and it is very convenient to the airport. There is an airport shuttle. The staff is outstanding. They are very helpful and friendly--making good recommendations for restaurants and giving good directions. The rooms are very clean and the hotel seems quite new, so that always makes it better. The hotel is a couple of blocks off the beaten path and I am not sure I would want to walk around the hotel at night, but I never heard a train and saw no panhandlers or prostitutes as mentioned by the previous reviewer.

“Trains and Panhandlers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011 via mobile

Convenient location near downtown and the airport. Also convenient to the homeless shelters and drug rehab facilities. After dark homeless people wander the parking lot asking / demanding change. The area surrounding the hotel is very sketchy with very obvious drug and prostitution activity. As an added bonus there is a train track about 200 yards from the back of the hotel which can get a little noisy. As an added added bonus, the hotel doesn't print your folio and leave it under the door. The guy at the front desk said he didn't have a code to print it for me. They say they will email it (so far they haven't). There are other Marriot properties in the area that would be a better choice.
